Is it possible that they aren't reacting so quickly this year as the numbers rise until the last second when the park actually reaches capacity in order to avoid a situation where people are dissuaded from coming? You know, to keep the bodies/money streaming in. ;)

They only announce it when they actually close, not before hand. Now they have done warnings a few times, but those haven't appeared this year either.

I have yet to see any capacity announcement this HOS season on any of BGW's social media. It was very odd to me. As busy as the park was last Saturday, I thought it would of hit capacity at some point during the day.

Maybe the crowds were spread out more evenly this year as opposed to last year? Instead of everyone coming on Saturdays they spread out more into Fridays and Sundays as well. I have noticed Fridays and Sundays have seemed much more busier than previous years. In fact, I can guarantee Fridays and Sundays are much more busier and Saturdays have reduced considerably. With 50% off tickets for Fridays and Sundays, everyone is planning to go those days instead.

Just saying that perhaps, attendance is relatively the same as last years, just more spread out throughout the event.

I can't wait until attendance figures come out.

I get that logic, but most people can't work their schedules to get off on Friday to go to the park and a lot of people don't like to go Saturdays because of work on Monday. Even looking at the meetup section, people here still go on Saturdays.

The park is hurting when it comes to attendance, no matter how you justify it, the park is failing to bring people in.

Thats is true, there are work schedule issues on Friday, and Sunday you don't want to be out late. However, if you can get 50% off, people may call out of work for one day (Friday) or people will stay up late an extra hour or so because in their mindset they are saving money.

I'm not going to pretend that I know attendance is up, down, or stale. I am just throwing out some ideas here. Personally, I do believe attendance was either just more spread out or slightly lower than last year.

Something to keep in mind, remember the BOGO Christmas Town deals? I believe you could only use those on Fridays or Sundays and it crashed their site. People love getting the best deals and half off sounds sweeter than gold in this economy.

Those were for any day, and Saturdays were still the heaviest during CT.

There's defending the park, but to ignore the documented fact that the park's attendance has been in decline for years is something else.

Did I not just say that I believe attendance is stale or just slightly dropped?

Saturdays will always remain the busiest days, as long as Monday thru Friday remain the work week. But how many times do you see Christmas Town closing to capacity on Saturdays last year? Personally, can't recall off the top of my head but I don't remember it.

10% over the last few years isn't "slightly".

CT hit capacity quite a bit last year on Saturdays, and even some Fridays/Sundays if I remember correctly. CT is a bit different because it's cheaper to get in and appeals to people who wouldn't normally go to the park during normal season and HoS though.

Oh I thought you were saying that you weren't going to predict anything. In that case "Just slightly dropped" ain't gonna cut it. I Really wouldn't be surprised if this is the lowest attendance we've had since 2006.:-/ This is one of the first years in forever where they've only hit capacity 3 times total so far.
