Not sure if anyone else here was at the park yesterday, but talk about a gigantic shit-show. Literally the worst day I've ever had in the park in 20+ years.

Ordered my VIP parking before we left the house, but the entire England lot was overflowing by the time I got there. Clearly they are over-selling VIP, or are letting anyone with preferred park in the VIP section. I saw no one out there monitoring this. Also saw several trucks towing trailers taking up 6-8 spaces. Had to go back out and park in the France lot. Then I had to go wait in line at Guest Relations for $15 to get my money back I paid for parking, which they gave me in "Busch Bucks".

Got that sorted and finally headed to Loch Ness to ride. Unfortunately these morons were only running one train, so it took 90 minutes to get from the entrance to the queue to inside the station. THEN, they decided to add a train which took another 30 minutes to do. I've never waited 2 hours for Loch Ness in my entire life. Finally got away from there and got to Griffon and Apollo's, which had reasonable wait times. Headed back towards the Fest Haus, but decided to ride Verbolten before dinner. That was a mistake, cause these idiots are only running 3 trains and only loading from the front half of the station. At least 90 minutes in line for that.

Then we headed to the Fest Haus for dinner, were we proceeded to wait 45 minutes in line for shitty un-cut pizza and cold, plain waffle fries. I would bet 75% of the food and drink shops were closed, but stupid shit like the nutcracker store in Germany is open. WTF? We were there for 8.5 hours, and got to ride Griffon and Apollo's twice, Loch Ness and Verbolten once.

Sorry for the long rant, and apologies for the list of first-world problems.

Interesting how BGW's answer to the staffing issues is to push ticket sales even harder with daily adds for free fun cards and day tickets at 50% off.

Can't watch 3 videos on YouTube without having a Howl-o-scream add come up.

On top of that they throw in free bring-a-friend tickets for members.

Guess my friend and I picked the wrong year to check out the park.

Been going to HHN Orlando for 15+ years and booked a night at HoS Orlando this year and had a blast. A couple of decided to give Williamsburg a try this weekend and sounds like a shitshow :(

Trying to figure out the website and what tickets mean have been a challenge…hope this weekend works out.

I really wish I would have just bought a BOGO one day ticket instead of the fun card, but I wasn't sure if the $44.99 tickets included the whole day instead or just Howl-o-Scream. Now I have to go back 3 more times to make it worthwhile.

As a first time attendee, what kind of wait times should I expect for the houses Thur - Sat this weekend?

Thursday looks like it's only HoS and then the weekend looks like the park is open during the day so hoping to do each house a couple times on Thursday and the enjoy the park during the day on the weekend and try to do each house once each night.

BGW is our home park and we will be headed to BGT HoS and Seaworld Orlando HoS this weekend.

Thursday should be very light. Casts will likely be a little smaller and more shops and rides will be closed, but you'll have no problem doing everything that's open that night. Friday will get crowded by the early evening, but as the night draws to a close, lines should start to vanish again. Saturday, assuming the weather isn't bad, given what the park looked like this last weekend, will be awful. Sorry. 🙁 I don't know if you're interested in Williamsburg's shows, but that may be a good use of a chunk of time on Saturday—far better than standing in eternal coaster lines or the like.

If it's not too late, I'd seriously consider doing Kings Dominion's Haunt on Friday while you're up here. It's an excellent, underappreciated event with legitimately incredible set design and some fantastic casts. Friday will probably have a healthy crowd at KD, but the event is really worth it. If you don't mind spoilers, some of the house photos @zachclarke2 recently posted will almost certainly sell you on their event.

I went Monday the 11th. Still was some wait for houses early on, should have just waited 'til later. Skipped Verbolten in favor of several more laps on others, since that went the other way last time. Skyride was not open but was spared a hike since a last train arrived at Caribou just after closing time and I had seen they were letting a few people wait for it.

Did consider people are fighting because they're hungry. At Festhaus would had to wait in line to get close enough to see what they had, Pretzel World wasn't very good last time I ate there, and didn't want ice cream. Finally got some beef jerky at a gift shop and ate later at the nearby Wendy's -- the hottest, freshest Wendy's I can remember ever having and the exact same price as the jerky. BG, you're turning away money.

I went tonight and did three houses on a very uncrowded night. Witch of the woods wás so fabulous tonight, constant scares. I have never been so 'on-edge' at an outdoor HOS 'house' before and I date back to Sea Dog Cemetery. I don't think Nevermore conveyed the theme as well as I hoped but it definitely provided the tension and the scares. Killarney Diner has an amazingly detailed set including music. It was my least favorite of the three in terms of scares but they still did a really good job. I haven't been so impressed with HOS houses since back in the beginning which may have been great. I had limited basis of comparison then
