I don’t care what they do with the mazes. Their Terror Torries need to be overhauled. They’ve been shit. Sideshow Square is small as hell. Demon street is straight up ass. Vampire Point has been a disappointment. I won’t even get into axe alley. The only “good” one is Ripper Row. The theming is fantastic and it gives a Victorian feel. They need more Terror Torries that are GOOD. If they take out a maze for 2 extra Terror Torries, by all means PLEASE. The overall feel of the event is more important than maxes in my opinion.

I think the park did the event an enormous disservice by removing Wendigo Woods, which I think was the only terror-tory that successfully created an immersive environment and tone all on its own. I still contend that Wendigo Woods could easily be re-instated in the Wild Reserve Jack Hanna Trail, assuming it props are still on hand.

I'd argue that they should give up on Terror-Torries altogether. In my opinion, most of them failed from the beginning, mostly because BGW doesn't have the staff to make them effective.

I have written at great length elsewhere about my many objections to how they have been implemented, and I don't feel like going into depth here, but generally, at their most effective they break up the mood. At their worst, they are almost non-existent.

Regardless, I would personally prefer that the park put the money into the houses, and skip trying to make the Terror-Torries work.

I prose that if the territories are that lack luster then the park should return to having roaming hoards similiar to theme of the scares being everywhere because that type of haunt does really well with a small scare squad.

Here is my honest opinion and it just may be me but I think Seaworld San Antonio does this concept right. I feel as if it is a horde/terror-tories hybrid. I have included the video below, let me know what your opinion is on this !

Lol, I mean the eye-contact, the coy smirks that privately indicate interest... following too closely behind someone and occasionally screaming at them. Watching them run away in terror.

Sorry. I was responding to Irishman.

I probably should have used quotes.

I am taking it as the concept of they have a set area like a big section not just a small scare zone, they are still calling it a terrortory but it’s more of roaming around in that big area like a horde but with a few restrictive parameter. Maybe i was just viewing it wrong ! I don’t believe the acting part is good but I should have been more specific with the post !

while riding the train around the park on saturday, I noticed that they keep up the sets for lumberhack and cornered (and I think the previous station for bitten is still possibly decorated? from what I could see atleast) and I was wondering if these pose as a problem for props or the like? it rains pretty often in the area and I feel like there is a potential for water damage. a person I know who worked for howl-o-scream said that cornered's maze has mold in it, which I'm assuming is partially due to having to endure nature year-round.

another thing I noticed was that there was an abandoned food stand behind the train storage house. it was similar to the one they set up behind the line for cornered, but I forget what the name was for it. if anyone was there yesterday who saw this as well, could you please explain what it was?

What year was it that the spark guys were in front of the carousel in Williamsburg?

I noticed decorations in Drach's station on the way to lumberhack this past season(from bitten maybe), lol it looked funny from the exposed part that I saw, and I was wondering about the weather as well because circo is exposed to the elements all the time as well and I think that might have something to do with why there is a weird smell in portal rooms.

That year was 2010 when they had modern gothic vampires wearing sliders gear (the equipment that allows them to slide) all throughout Germany.

This year is going to be interesting as the park won't be able to use Ireland as a house location due to BfE which brings the current house locations down to six. However, Catacombs is very heavily rumored to be getting the boot this year as it is the oldest house. This could potentially lower the line-up to six houses rather than seven. Although, a new location could easily be found as the park is very creative in squeezing in houses.

Many people are suggesting an event over-haul and I think this could be done extremely easily as the park has done this many times without a significant amount of work taking place. For example, in 2009 the park had an "all-new" line up of houses, scare-zones, and a new show. Many of the scare zones were smaller only having a few scare actors. On the contrary, this allowed for six scare zones that were very effective due to the tight spaces and specific targeting of scares. Rather than having several medium to large size terror-tory's the park could once again focus on smaller scare zones in the darker areas of the park helping with the issue of staffing and still allowing for more intense atmosphere. Also, the park could still utilize the party zones as those have proven to be successful money makers, just keep them in a separate area outside of the scare zones.

In regard to the houses, this would be simple as in 2009 with an "all-new" line up many of the houses had very minimalistic changes. Caverns of Darkness was in Ireland and utilized props from COS and other previous attractions. Catacombs used props from SeaDog Cemetery as well as Wicked Woods. Bitten transformed Grimm Hollows: Deadtime Stories into a manor run a muck with a vampire infestation. Hunted was essentially Tormented Tales just removing most traces to the previous house and focusing on werewolves. Harvest Hollow was just a field of cornstalks. Cursed was a witches overlay of Wicked Woods. Revenge of Pompeii was pretty much the same as Curse of Pompeii. While most of the houses were very similar it allowed the park to breathe in life to many attractions that needed it. Due to the financial state of the parks, I feel an over-haul like 2009 could be done on a budget that would lead to the most bang for the parks buck.

Mazes that don't interfere with regular park operations are left up all year long so Circo Sinestro and Lumberhack aren't taken down at the end of HOS. Everything else is removed however.

Any food stands that are only used during special events are also put into storage backstage so you likely just saw a random food stand.

Williamsburg only hires about half the number of actors as Tampa (sometimes less). BGW would have to significantly change the core of their event if they wanted to shift their focus to hiring more actors.

The only reason I would see them hiring EVERYONE that auditions is if Scare is Everywhere is coming back.

As Zachary said, they pretty much do hire everyone. The trouble, as is also the case at Haunt, is getting enough people to audition in the first place. Hence, if you have a pulse and no criminal record, you're hired.
