Maybe if they acted out some kind of 'situation' like Wendigo does it would be better. Something to make you stop, look, and say, 'what the hell is going on over there?'. It might not be scary, but at least it would be interesting.

That was the original plan last year, for one of the Rippers to "kid-nap" a lady, but people took it a little too seriously, and they stopped doing it by the second day.

They got rid of the chasing after opening weekend last year. After that, all the actors pretty much crowded around the steps of the Globe and put on a show. While the actors were great and the skit they put on was fun, it wasn't very "scary" nor did it put me on edge after a few walkthroughs.

This year, there's more emphasis on scares, but the staffing is kinda weak. I think they should at least have half the actors in front of the Globe putting on the show and the other half roaming around, but knowing the staffing issues, I don't think that's gonna be possible.

In my opinion I had an hour to experience Ripper Row so I got really into it and I have to say they were doing a darn good job. But I would still rank WW hire due to fact that the actors were giving there all out and they never once left the immersion. Only complaint is the fact that the wendigo is contained but there screaming about how he's on the loose. Also they need to add more path themeing by moving the watch tower near the stores to the pathway. This would cause guest to feel tense and claustrophobic and would allow a nice new hiding spot for actors. Other then that WW really blew my mind away. (And all of KD Scarezones:p) I'll be back for a fall trip this Sunday since there's a holiday to see if any of the actors have adapted to there surroundings cough*Ports of Skulls cough*.

I never understood it either. It's a missed opportunity for a cool scare actor. But I'm sure the budget couldn't handle it.

I saw chasing all throughout last year, then again I spent a lot of time there so I got to see more than just walking through.

I really just wish one of the girls would start screaming Murder and sprinting. Then you'd find one of the victims near the exit or the entrance to Scotland. Like everyone's said, the set is there, the story just needs to be more visceral.

The kidnappings last year were kinda cool and did end the first weekend.  Apparently someone got hurt in the process and that was that.
This year the big ghost-face "Ripper" guy has been seen carrying off a few ladies of the night here and there.  The constables have also carried off the CURSED critter thing. ;)

Also, our favorite shrieking banshee from Ripper Row last year can be found scaring the hell out of folks wandering by in Vampire Point; usually around the entrance coming from Wendigo Woods.  Apparently, she does her job so well that a "bodyguard" has been present looking out for her. I wonder who that could be... :)

I had the chance a few weeks ago to sit in the back of the Globe by the control board.  I have not seen this posted before.  New show, new tech, so of course it all looks to be a slick, touchscreen interface. We enjoyed the projection additions and Monster Stomp, in general.

Last year, the Ripper, Butcher, and a few others would chase people. This year not so much.

Yep. I only saw one girl chased by one of the Demon Street demons last Saturday.

Sorry for posting this late but I haven't had much time. A few pics from last weekend..

Night shots not as good but I did what I could.

Some quick thoughts ..

Territories ..
Demon Street and Vampire Point were really good this year. I saw a lot more path scares than last year.
Wendigo Woods was great except for the lack of scares. I only 3 soldiers that just stood there and spoke softly to guests.
Rippers Row and Port of Skulls were very disappointing. I didn't see that many scare actors around Rippers Row and just seemed uneventful to me. Port of Skulls was just awful. The cartoon pirates acted too friendly and didn't how to scare. I wish that BGW would come up with another concept for Italy because their idea of pirates isn't working imo.

Houses..
Bitten - The best house imo. Good amount of scare actors throughout the maze. Decor was great.
Catacombs - A good house with some good scares but not as well staffed as previous years.
Deadline - I have always enjoyed Deadline but not this year. I wasn't that scary to me. It seemed understaffed with some missed opportunities.
Root of All Evil - This was a downgrade from last year. Not many scare actors although I did get good scares. Their were no gardening tools used by the scare actors. What's up with that?
Cutthroat Cove - My first experience with this as I didn't get a chance to do it last year. It was just ok to me. Their wasn't many scare actors and several empty spots. I walked through for several minutes with no scare actors around and was wondering what was going on.

I didn't get a chance to do 13 but I didn't miss anything from what I've seen posted.

Overall, I thought it wasn't too bad. I do wish they would a few scare actors along the pathways that aren't Terrortories. It was just so depressing walking through those areas with no werewolf or bush monster jumping out at you.

Their's a chance that I may be going back next weekend.

So I happened to be sitting in front of a park employee at the 6:00 showing of Fiends and couldn't help overhearing some of his conversation about attendance numbers this season... apparently they have been matching or surpasses last year's numbers every weekend except for opening weekend. If I understood correctly, they were down 18,000 that weekend and they have not made up for that shortcoming up until now. Of course, I don't know who this guy was or his credibility, but I thought this was interesting anyway!

Also this employee was apparently in charge of selecting the incense that they used for the Catholic service in the Abbey Stone Theater the other weekend. If you're curious, they went with "mahogany".
