^ I know the feeling. I want to thank the pics because they're nice and because Luke... but I cannot countenance thanking Demon Street, even by proxy.
The only aspect of Demon Street that bothers me is the DJ. Everything else is actually decent.
As much as I hate the concept for Demon Street, I thought the demons vied with personnel of Wendigo Woods as the best scare actors in the park last night. The scare actors in Vampire Point, Ports of Skull, and even my beloved Ripper Row were all so... lackluster last night. Instead of simply standing there and growling or snapping a fan as in the latter three areas, the demons were bouncing off the walls, crawling on the ground, banging their knifes on buildings, and running through the crowd wielding their chainsaws. It feels weird to say it, but Demon Street had some of the best scares last night.
Demon, Wendigo, and Vampire all have the best scares by far. Pirates and Ripper haven't been doing too hot. Actors in Vampire were all out Friday night. Demons are amazing as usual. Wendigo seems much more short staffed, but the actors are spread out much better than they've been the past few weeks.
Catacombs was running amazing Friday night. This was not the same maze I walked through opening night. Still a few missed opportunities but overall major improvement.
I'll be out and about next Sunday. If you wanna meet up, I'm down for it.

Could they have looked at Tampa's site? That seems to be a pretty common mistake.
Also, I don't object to a religious organization renting the AST or getting discounts, seeing as BG is private and can do that legally. Being mad due to the schedule mix-up is understandable, though, seeing as park time is valuable in this season of long lines.

I agree. I thought the scares of Demon Street and Vampire Point were much improved from last year. Though their weren't more scares when walked through Wendigo Woods. I only saw 3 soldiers. Only one of them was doing something with a shock stick.
A facebook friend posted pics that they took in a photo booth and it has the "Zombie Containment Unit" logo...
It amazes me that people still get the Williamsburg and Tampa fb pages mixed up even though both have their address posted.

As for the Terror-tories, they all just sorta suck in my honest opinion. Make a point to walk through Demon Street and wIndigo Woods. They both have an environment that's worth witnessing. The others are just sorta, uh, there... Maybe. I'm not entirely convinced Vampire Point exists. Anyway, don't expect any of them to be the slightest bit scary.
- Cut Throat Cove (Great house, great cast, understaffed)
- Root of All Evil (Great house, good cast, stacking problems, understaffed)
- Catacombs (Mediocre house, amazing, unique acting, moderately understaffed)
- Bitten (Great house, cast inconsistent at best, stacking problems, moderately understaffed)
- Dead Line (Great house, disastrously bad cast, bad stacking problems, inconsistently staffed)
- Thirteen (Awful house, cast was mediocre at best, horrible stacking problems, very understaffed)

I could never get on board with the massive hype for Ripper Row last year. This year, however, it seems to have lost everything that qualified it as a Terror-tory and is performing essentially as a really bad scarezone. In other words, in my mind, it's now Vampire Point with a bit of definition and theming.
^tbh the last night was the best night of ripper Row last year. That's the only reason it got any sort of hype from me.
Ripper Row really seems to be missing something this year. Last year there was some sort of feeling to the area that really exemplified what a "terror-tory" was supposed to be. It was immersive, and it mixed scares with a story to be experienced. The anxiety and individual characters created tied everything together. I doubt it has anything to do with some of the facades missing this year, but something was legitimately missing this year. Part of it was that the actors didn't seem to be into their roles last year. Last year, we had Nellie and countless others playing their own part in the Jack the Ripper story. This year, every time I walked through the actors the only thing I saw were some ladies snapping fans. I didn't even see any police officers this year, and they were my favorite part of the event last year.
Equally concerning to me at the event is how many actors go out of commission to take pictures with the guests. I guess making the terror-tories a bunch of giant photo ops help sum up just what is wrong with the event.

I know this is a wildly unpopular opinion, but I secretly disliked RR last year. I thought it was boring. The actors seem more interactive this year, at least to me. Maybe my expectations are lower, since I expected to dislike it again this year.
That was my exact experience every time I went last year. They walked back and forth and snapped their fans.
I agree with Nicole, I think the actors on Ripper Row are a lot better than last year. The best you might get last year was a fan snapping. This year, they scream at you, and even the Headless woman will stand still and flinch if you get near them, which is better than anything they did last year. The staffing Sunday night, was more than anything I saw on Saturdays last year. I do miss the man/lady though, she was always fun to talk to.
