//Has war flashbacks to 13 from 2011. "It's a bat!" nvr4get.

So did they decide to change to bats, because of theme reasons, to match Vampire Point. Or did they change it to bats, because the spiders were so broken that they could hardly be called spiders.

And if these bats have taken over the old spider residence. Where are the spiders gonna go? I was really hoping to shove my friend into some terrible looking spiders in broad daylight. ):

They changed it from spiders, because New France was spiders last year, and now that New France has a different theme, they matched it with Vampire Point, because it wouldn't of matched anymore.

Shhhh, Matthew you're ruining my hopes that they changed it because those spiders were so broken, that they had to. Even if I was looking forward to shoving my friend into them.

Great job BGW! You finally killed my childhood nightmares. Misson Accomplished! Hopefully those spiders will never return. (Gets tapped on shoulder."They could be going to 13." Pssh I doubt it. its not like there's fear of Spiders or anything.) Considering Ports of Skull got an upgrade I would not be suprised if all the Terror-torys get minor upgrades.

In terms of crowds, quality of experience, or both?

A balance of both, I suppose. Although I usually visit the park on Sunday for smaller crowds, I have arrived during HOS a couple of times to find the overflow lots of Scotland and Bavaria in use. On both occasions we turned around and returned home. Maybe things have improved somewhat beyond the nice new landscaping, but on the one occasion I parked in overflow the wait was an hour or more to reach the park. The lines in the park were equally challenging.

What is best for small crowds, but with all HOS attractions open?

I defer to the Williamsburg locals, but my impression is that you want to wait a few weeks for the actors and park to iron out the wrinkles, but you don't want to go too close to Halloween either. I usually target end of September/beginning of October. Fridays and Sundays are better for crowds, I believe. I always get QQs, but I have no stomach for lines.

As Nic said, I would also recommend late September/early October. At this point the actors have gotten the swing of things and the park should be fully decorated and ready for the event, but the Halloween crowds still haven't fully hit yet. Sundays are usually your best bet.

Unlike Nicole, I don't use QQ. To make sure you can hit everything you want to regardless of crowd levels, hit all the shows during the day. Make sure you are in line for you favorite house before 6 and go from house to house in order to minimize your waiting in line. Then you can enjoy the terror-tories and other attractions.
