Yeah would be cool to do the boat ride and be boarded by pirates, and they could have it set up to grab someone

The more I think about this (because it is employee evaluation time and I am REALLY trying to think about anything except my real job), the more I believe truly immersive experiences like these would make HOS incredibly cool. They combine the idea of terror-tories with the fun (for people other than me) of audience participation. Sort of a mash-up of an attraction and a show. It would be more interactive, more interesting, and I think more fun for everyone than just walking around and having people jump out at you or chase you down the road.

What have we thought up so far?

- Asking visitors to volunteer to be kidnapped in Ripper Row; and
- Having "pirates" board the river boat and possibly take captives.

So that leaves vampires and demons. I also wonder if there is a safe (for the animals) way to incorporate animals?

I am going to ponder this tonight over some Zinfandel, I think.

That shack is totally German not Italian or Caribbean :p

Seriously it is set apart from the park, it isn't even in the hamlet, just off in some random field basically. I think besides the hula skirt, it looks pretty decent for a pirate themed maze.

It looks pretty good, now if most of the maze looks as good as that, I might really like it! And just compare this one picture to all of ROAE it looks very nice for an in park made house. I might be very excited for this house, maybe not so much for the other new things, but as for this I can't wait to go through it!

More unsolicited ideas. I had some Cab Sav instead of the Zin, but it seems to have worked just as effectively. Also, my endlessly clever husband helped with this one.

Vampires!

What if the scare actors jumped out at guests, as usual. But then another actor dressed as a vampire slayer jumped in to "save" the intended victim. They could have a staged fight, and the slayer could stake the vamp.

It would be like street theater integrated with the scares.

Yes looks good using recycled props, most of the scares are by actors and props so hopefully comes together.

Nic I like your vampire idea! I was thinking the vampires are fading out so they grab people to repopulate the vampire community , would be hard unless you hired twins. I think for the pirates, taking over and pilferaging the Rhine River boat, could be easily played off by having certain times and working actors into que line with guests. We know this wont happen but hey we had good ideas, and who knows maybe something someone could pass on.

I m still excited like I said I mostly had to work during HOS, so I need a few good scares, you guys will probably hear me scream. Also what are your best tips for doing HOS here at BGW? I know at BGT it was best to start toward the more older houses than new, and so on. I was wondering when is best time to work in the shows? I know I wanna see Fiends and Night Beat, but is it better to catch them during early part of park or later when the lines get really long? Thank you for your input, just trying to plan it out, especially since I know at a certain time I have to eat to take my meds for kidney issue

It is just fun to brainstorm creative ideas. I haven't really gotten to that, since I stopped doing event planning.

Do you plan to get Quick Queues? And which nights will you be there? I think knowing what kind of lines you will be dealing with is probably key to answering your question.

I do not recommend going on Saturdays. And I go to HOS every Friday and get there at 3:30-4. Ride a couple coasters, eat dinner at 5. And I go through all the haunted houses in no particular order. Friday you'll be good "most of the time" Sundays are usually good too. But Saturday you'll have to get there very early before they close due to capacity

How childish and cartoony does this look? Like really, you see all these other awesome logos and then this.

Also noting that Captain Barghbie's Booty was actually named after Phil Barbie, Director of Merchandise. Barbie to Barghbie. From what I understand this shop is his special project for the event.
