RE: Howl-O-Scream 2013: Fear Has a Way of Spreading

My daughter thought the stage was cute. The signage is a little awkward though...

Because if the big new thing is only recycled props from defunct attractions.

The thing I look at is how they use those recycled props. The San Marco bridge looks fantastic and how they used the recycled clothes really adds a level of creepiness. All this is my opinion and I respect your opinion, but it is sad how people are already loosing hope. :(

Just had a Deadline moment, whilst cleaning my toilet, I went to flush and water squirted right back up at me.

CK! Is that a yellow straw in a red cup? If it is one thing that really bugs me is mis-matched straws/tops with bottoms. I actually would prefer the black straw with my red HOS cup because that would go together perfectly but yellow with red?

. . . but anyway I m excited and did anyone notice the HOS free refill cup is actually just the HOS rose eye sticker over the red verbolten cups but all good free refills.

Actually no. The Howl-o-Scream cups are not the same as the Verbolten cups with the difference of a sticker, technically speaking. They are both very similar in design and color however they aren't the exact same. The Howl-o-Scream cups come with a barcode that when scanned rings up HOS Refill $0.00, yes I know it is still on the sticker but these aren't stickers the park just puts on the cups, they come to the park ordered like such.

Well, it's a good thing that this isn't your cup in the picture. I ALWAYS mix and match stuff to make my cup standout. Look out! I'm likely to have two mismatched cups on a given day. There's like a thousand of those things laying around at any given time. BTW, the straw that comes with the new HOS souvenir cup is red. The picture/advertisement is yet another farce; no black. :(

Also, along with missing "the", why is the "D" in "Dig" on the sign capitalized?

The thing is that if the park is going the cheap route for everything (recycled props and in house snail quality props), then HoS is going to be cheap. In theory the terror-tories with intense theming would be great, but in-house props have not had a great track record recently. If we take away the new house and the path stuff, the biggest new thing is more booze.

Edit: HoS times from last year (confirmed by Zach and other people).
HoS started at 6 (my mistake).
Kiddy Hamlets Close at 8.
Rides not in kiddy areas did not closer a early.

I do think that they need to kill everything kiddy related at 5:30, but need more kiddy stuff during the day.

That's cool but noticed the two cups we have that we purchased at Ski Market near ALPIE FOR HOS is the HOS CUP but if u look inside it has a previous verbolten type sticker don't matter still free refills but watched a team member re placing HOS stickers over top some red bottles in the back of DER MARK PLATZ but either way I bought it and am happy with it. Have a quick question is it true or hearsay that HOS has to be stepped down here in williamsburg because of noise ordinance and because certain age drivers who work during HOS are not allowed to drive after 12am whereas when I worked BGT HOS we were open until 1 or 2am. Just needed that answered since my roomie is working scare squad but is only 18

I would like to hope that they are economizing in some places, so they can really up their game in others. That would be responsible budgeting. I think it is too early to start declaring HOS a cheap, disappointing disaster.

I agree with Nic I m just glad I can experience HOS HERE AT BGW I worked at BGT HOS and also worked for CEDAR POINT for 3 years and did their HALL O WEEKENDS which was kinda good n not so good but HOS in Tampa was great maybe Williamsburg park will get into the vibe of BGT HOS like their 13 this year. Besides isn't gonna be sweet 16 soon for HOS BGW maybe all the themes will throw a big sweet 16 party for it and bring in old JACK IS BACK sorry I grumble on but have lots of ideas and reading you guys opinions and inputs I would say mostly you guys would bring Busch Gardens back to its glory and breed it to a much more enthusiastic level for guests. With that said look me up I like to meet you all and hit up the park and HOS I m in and if you need me to grab pics while in park I can do it I m in there pretty much every day from open to close. Thanks guys also wish they would bring back the terror train tour that would be great since they having terror-Tories

If they brought back Jack is Back in anyway, it would have to be inside, him having a show outside in Ireland, was nothing but a giant bottle neck. And made it exceedingly difficult to go through Ireland.

I know the show is missed (by mostly people not on here.) But it was really in a bad location.

"The park isn't used to being frugal."

I have been wondering about that. I have a friend who was fairly high up in management in another entertainment-based company. She told me they essentially didn't have to worry about budgets, because their purpose was as a tax write-off for the parent company. Was BG that way under AB? If so, it could contribute to their budgeting issues.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2013: Fear Has a Way of Spreading

BG was exactly that way under AB as a tax write-off but not after they were sold.

I don't know what their internal organizational structure looks like, but I can attest from working in a large bureaucracy, myself, that change comes slowly. If their processes (I hate that word) were not structured for a profit-motive, then I would imagine they have been spending years trying to change corporate culture and practices to address a new set of requirements and restrictions. Plans and intentions do not manage organizations, individuals do.

Don't they do Halloween stuff in Sesame Street during the day before HOS starts?
