Buschboy, that is a scanner. It is a special type of lighting device that it's main purpose is to project an image or colored circle whilst scanning an area like a searchlight. It gets it's name "scanner" after it's primary objective of scanning an area.
I personally have been trying to get my hand on one, but the cheapest I've found is $100 each, that is programmed to do what I want it do. There are many different types of scanners, a lot of the cheaper ones create a moonflower effect. Which is something I do not desire. I personally am trying to locate a cheap one that only projects a plain and simple white circle or can project plain simple colored circles. There are also ones that project designs that cost hundreds and possibly thousands. If you check out some sites you can can find some as cheap at $80 and as expensive as $10,000.
I am not exactly sure what type the park uses, but I would love to get my hands on them. Now with that said these lights were only used during Illuminights as they were basic pastel colored circles that were scanning around the area in circles. Very neat effect I must say. I can definitely say they don't have a current use other than Illuminights, but they just might use them for Howl-o-Scream this year, depending on how the park decides to pull off the burning Paris idea.
I am so happy they finally have the Howl-o-Scream cup back with the Free Refills promotion! It is perfect for me and I have been waiting forever. I was hoping it'd come back.

Thanks PR. haha I saw those cups. My mom bought a Loch Ness cup today, and on the way out we saw them and she said "You think they'll let me exchange them?" And we both started laughing

Man I wish I went to the bridge today! I only went in to get a pork shank and then left. Sadly they were all out of bacon, so it wasn't bacon wrapped, but I got Guinness infused BBQ sauce on it and I must say it beats out the turkey leg. It has little to no bones or cartilage so it is extremely easy to eat! You know except for the two big bones in the middle

CK, I don't think they can have a scarezone on a bridge unless they add a fence or something. They aren't taking ANY chances. I can see it now...

Honey, I shrunk the kids!!!
But really, that's just sad. Too many people with their feelings hurt.
I could see them having scare actors on that bridge with some sort of rope enclosure/fence that blends smoothly with the theming.

No nets. No fences. Just pure, natural terror. Should have like a dummy on a rope that gets repeatedly thrown over the side by some big & tall scary guy. SPLASH!!

If it's a realistic pirate theme, they need a gallows. The Germany/Italy bridge could have twitching dummies hanging from it!

I think instead of worrying about a little hole that no person on Earth could fit through, they should worry about the pirate barrels on the bridge.
It will only take one dumb parent to sit their kid on it for a photo op or even a drunk guy to climb up on one before tragedy happens.
However, it could be a great way to test Darwin's Theory.
