I'd be happy if they brought the event up to Tampa's level, with or without the separate ticket.

Tampas wasn't all that last year. I did it twice and it was obvious their budget ran dry. Bgw could blow them outta the water with hard ticket.

Really? I don't in the slightest bit, nor do several of the heavy hitter insiders. In fact most of them view every angle of bgw as the supreme park power in the eastern half of the US.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2013

Why does everyone think that the park can just spend thousands upon thousands of dollars on anything? Their not idiots, they save their money so they can invest in much more bigger projects later on. Sure they can constantly spend money on making their events better, or they could save up their money and over time afford a new country expansion? a resort hotel? another $54 million coaster?

Seriously, they spend their money wisely. You can't just constantly spend money year after year after year on things that change so constantly. You have to put your money in the long term investments in things that will be there always and since it doesn't change, it has to be perfect. So honestly, I am fine with how their budget is now.

If they started charging separate admission for Howl-o-Scream, then if they used those funds for improving Howl-o-Scream, I am fine with that. I expect them to spend HoS profit on HoS and CT profit on CT. I do not mind it at all. It makes the events better. But honestly to say that they should spend their money like crazy each year on something that constantly changes is a waste. Sooner or later they will run out if they went crazy spending each year.

Especially with a rocky economy that we have currently, saving money is probably one of the most important things you could do. Especially when you plan for long term investments.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2013

As far as I am concerned, Howl-O-Scream was very enjoyable. The only real problem I had was some understaffing in some houses and maybe the hoard numbers in the beginning weeks. I think they addressed the numbers for the roamers fairly well, with some houses still hurting. I'm sure there is someing to be done about that. But let's not to get outrageous. I don't want this to become a separate ticket event or have a huge price increase. I live very close and go once or twice every weekend. One thing I have hoped for is the return of Monster Stomp and that looks to be happening based on what people here are saying, leaving me with this one wish... For the love of God, fix the TROLL to all his glory!! Other than that, look around. People are enjoying Howl-O-Scream. ;)

Oh yeah, the special event refill cups were a nice touch. Pay $11.99 (I think) and get free refills for 6 weeks of Howl-O-Scream.

Oh, don't get me wrong... I see Busch as an above-regional level themepark... I don't count them in the same category.

Busch does great things, But as far as Howl-o-Scream goes I sung them praises for 2011 hoping that they would continue to improve. They stagnated in 2012, and as far as I'm concerned took a step backwards.

There's also more, Disappointed in entwined. Illuminights. Concert offerings, Eita, HOS mazes and atmosphere (I liked night beats and fiends). I see potential to be great, to do better than what they have been doing, and infact they have done much better before... Doesnt mean I'm down on the good. Verbolten is awesome. Pretzels are probably the best culinary addition ever created.

Isn't that Fiends' stuff?
I can see most of it is from Fiends. I not sure I recognize the mannequin though. Does anyone else recall that from anywhere?

^I thought he was wearing a white jacket. I guess the could have changed it though. Anyway, fantastic photo!

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2013

Actually the dummy in the photo was never put out this year. They stayed in the warehouse all season to be repaired (though I don't think they ever were). The dummies (there are actually 2 of them) have an air tank and rock back and forth. I am pretty sure they came out of Bitten a few years ago though I could be wrong on that.

How about inside DarKastle or ground level of Land of the Dragons? Both have room for queues. (Land of the Dragons area has a long walkway between the sky ride and the carousel, that could possibly be a queue.) Just an idea. :p

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2013

I think Curse of DarKastle's queue could work, but I highly doubt they'd be willing to shut down the ride to make it possible.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2013

I think shutting down major attractions for houses is not the best Idea, but things like EITA and the water rides make sense, so does LOD because you have FOF

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2013

Why do we care if LoD and FoF are shut down for HoS again? Use the for houses, after all the event is not for kids and those areas should shut down early anyways.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2013

Kids still need something from 10-5,park still needs families during the day, but Iz think FOF would suffice the kids during HOS, then again, I have NO idea how crowded they get.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2013

Leave LOD alone when it comes to HOS. The idea is the park is in normal operations during the day and then transforms into HOS at night. I hope it stays that way because it is how the dynamic between young kids and adults coexisting can happen.

Plus DarKastle is a Haunted attraction already, why would you want this closed during a Haunted Event. I would love to see a house carry on its theme and story though.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2013

Speaking of Darkastle, I'd love it to have different themes around HOS/CT... just a thought.
