I had SUCH a great time at HoS this year. I haven't been in about three years and we had a fantastic time. I thought the decorations were amazing, the themes were great... I loved it all. I also loved that there was so much to do and see. I actually like that we couldn't do it all in one visit because it left more to do for next time and makes me want to go back. I thought the clown horde was fun, I danced with one of them, and the Casket Club show was way more than I was expecting (and let's be honest, thank God it wasn't Entwined or whatever the regular show is). The only thing that disappointed me was that the train had no special effects and no displays. Other than that it was all aces. Absolutely great job, Busch Gardens, very fun weekend!!!!

Does BG normally hit capacity on a Sunday? I was thinking of going down this Sunday, but I wouldn't be able to get there until like 3:30ish. Do you think that would be OK?[/i]

Sunday is the last day for HOS. It could be a madhouse that day. You may be better off trying to get there by 1pm.

We went this past Sunday 10/21 and got there about 2:30 we were a little shocked (not too much though) to have been parked in overflow that early. We figured it would be busier but did not expect it to be that crowded. I would suggest if you're going this weekend 10/26-10/28 plan for heavy crowds and plan out your "plan of attack" for rides and houses if you can't or won't spring for the QQ. Good luck!

Preferred parking via Platinum Pass FTW!!!

The park has announced they will be issuing Rain Day tickets for anyone who visits the park on Sunday.

For anyone visiting Sunday, don't! Hurricane and Tropical Storm conditions are highly expected and will probably stop the hordes, Fear Fair, Root of All Evil, etc. Also, according to NOAA, the current Hurricane coming up the East will be combining with a Winter Storm creating a Frankenstorm. I HIGHLY advise all to stay away from the park. I will be watching the weather and letting you all know what is going on, but as of now expect extremely nasty and messy weather all over. Rain, snow, hail, high winds are all currently forecasted.

-End of Weather Alert-

Did all the houses last night. Catacombs was by far the strongest. I can understand why they keep bringing it back. A lot of the others were just understaffed, especially Fear Fair and Root of All Evil.

From BGW's Facebook Page:

"Due to the proximity of Hurricane Sandy to the Williamsburg area, Busch Gardens will be closed Sunday, Oct. 28. Precautions are in place in accordance with the park’s extensive Severe Weather plan to ensure the safety of our employees and animals during this time."

Smart move. They are open today and I hear their's not much of a crowd their due to Sandy. It looks like today will be the official last day of HOS. Of course, some people aren't happy about it and they want HOS to be extended. I've seen people ask for Halloween and/or next weekend to be open for HOS. BGW can't do that due preparations for Christmas Town and HOS cast members contracts being up tomorrow.

Awesome time on this final evening of Howl-O-Scream!!! Not too many people for a Saturday on the last weekend. You would've thought there was a hurricane-a-comin' or something. Very little rain. Mostly short, light showers & mist. Almost no lines for anything and everything was open. I love living only 10 minutes away from BG!! Entertainers in shows were really on their game. Extra little efforts here and thee and the crowds were really into as well. ;)

This was definitely the most emptiest Saturday ever at the park, I think capacity go to about 10K as the highest around 4PM, and then just died.

I wanted to wait until the end of HoS to share this because I didn't want the park to take it down. You know how the Disney parks have secret Mickey mouses hidden throughout? This is something similar. (SEMI NSFW)
