Anyone know what the attendance will be tonight Fri 9/28? Planning on going and we are hoping it won't be too bad this early in Hallowscream.
The last two Fridays have been rather pleasant. Nothing like Saturdays. :)

New HOS QR Codes are randomly placed throughout the park with exclusive content. 10 over all! If you get the links post them here.

Just throwing this out there, but last year's HOS was pretty lackluster the first two weeks of the event too. There was only one really good scare zone and the mazes were hit-miss at best.

Yeah all the decorations were up in full force last year, but then again, the park didn't really try to pull a fast one and open the event a week early like they did this year.

There was just an incident in Root of All Evil. Music was stoped and entrance was suspended. If know what happened please tell!

I saw a few of them, but I was rushing around to do other things and then...rain & lightning!! But, there is this:

Here is a really cool view of Mach Tower silhouetted by the moon light. Taken just in front of the statue in Germany.

As for the event tonight, they've added even more decorations and scare actors. To me this shows that they are still scrambling to make up for what they underestimated.

After the rain the fog from the machines just hung in the air just making the park look really creepy. We rode the sky ride a, the views were really great. Seems the weather did more for the park atmosphere than Busch has been able too.

And as long as the start date keeps coming up, I'll keep responding: it's not the first time they've started HOS this early... it's just the first time they've been this far from being ready.

Either something technical that had to be addressed right away or a scare actor or park guest related illness (injury, fainting, etc.). That would be my guess.

Eye of the Garden!!

They were in the Happy Haunts Halloween Shop in England (no other place in the park had them, and the merchants didn't know what I was talking about when I asked).
They cost $4.76 each ($9.00 even for two with pass discount).
There were about eight left and most of them had dead or barely working batteries (some were a little scuffed up as well).
The two I picked out were the best of the lot with no scuffs and fully working batteries.
Get 'em while you can!!

Those are a lucky find. Last year they were $10.00 each, then they went on discount at the end of last year, half off. This year the leftovers are half off as well. If you can get your hands on them, I suggest you do. The park will go out of stock on this item and it won't come back. Talk about limited edition.

Surprise of the night:

Scare Zone right across from The Battering Ram at the intersection of the bridge to Festa.

This picture does this spot no justice. While in line for the BR, before the rain and lightning started, this looked pretty cool. There was fog everywhere, and a guy in a skull mask would "fly" out of the woods over people's heads on the pathway and scare them. It appears to be some kind of bungee contraption. Will try to get a better action shot when I go back Sunday.

These "bungee" scares have been used before. If memory serves correct, the park actually has two of these. One was previously used in a scare zone for ghosts in New France, while the other was used in Hunted a while ago.

I must say, these are definitely very startling, plus the fact they have a fog machine there will provide great cover for the scare actor. The one thing though is how dangerous is it in heavy fog? Half the time I can hardly see if anyone is in front of me.

Yep, the bungee is across from the Battering Ram. And the other bungee is where they had the ghosts in New France. It is now a werewolf.

I finally went through Dead Line last night. It was A-MAZING. The amount of detail was very large and the scares were unexpected. It's now my favorite.

Did anybody see the new actors in the Reserve yesterday?! They were creepy! They got a few good scares too because they just blended so well in the area. To be honest I'm really not a hundred percent sure how to describe them though, some sort of ghostly figure I guess. Personally I felt like they came out of NOWHERE, because they blended so well. That's what made it more scary, than just, "HOLY #$%^ YOU JUST SHOOK A CAN AT ME DUDE!".

The best scares of last night came when normally dressed staff members shakes "rattle cans" at unsuspecting park guests who were on the lookout for costumed scare actors.

Note about Deadline from somebody who visited Italy: "One concern about Busch Garden's Deadline: public Italian bathrooms don't have toilet seats." First the sundial and now this, the park has got to get it together.

Even though the park planned to open HOS on the 14th in 2007, did the park tell everyone that they were gonna open a week early (on the 7th) like they did this year?

What about in 2006? 2005?

While the event has opened earlier in the past, I don't think the park said "Hey instead of opening on the 14th (or 15th, or 16th), we'll be starting the event a week earlier so you can come check it out". If anyone can tell me if the park has actually done that in the past, that would be cool. The park had a set opening and the park made preparations in advance for that set opening. This year, the park pushed that set opening back when normally that weekend would be set for finishing any details, adding more props to the pathways, and getting as many last minute scareactors hired as they can. I think this year's "opening a week earlier" deal was a last minute plan to get people excited about HOS and it backfired.

I have *no* idea what you're talking about - the passmember calendar for this year said 9/14, and that's when it opened... the previous weekend was passmember appreciation. Am I missing something?

Strange, the park schedule I have says the park is closed on the 14th and closes at 6 on the 15th and 16th. It doesn't start closing at 10 until the weekend of the 21st.

On the back it says HOS is from Sept. 21st - Oct 28th.
