Any haunted event your going to get hit. Coming from a person whose been punched in the face.

Also, boohoo if they touch you. Your not going to die. I do it. Sure were not supposed to but what's it going to hurt? Please don't whine about stupid things.

I will say this--some people have issues with close personal contact, and in my experience almost every park that does a scare thing has a disclaimer somewhere in the legalese saying that the actors will not touch you, and asking the patrons NOT to touch/hit the actors. There is PLENTY it can hurt and since there is so much documentation saying the scare actor is not supposed to touch the patrons, if a patron is seriously hurt/traumatized you can get in a lot of trouble. There are VERY GOOD reasons why someone may not want you touching them. Someone not wanting a stranger to touch them is not 'stupid'. [Edit: at least at KD, I know this is the case. In 2010 there was fine print on the signs saying that the actors would not touch you.] I had my hair pulled by a scare actor at King's Dominion, and my instinctive reaction was to whirl around and kick him in the abdomen. I didn't get in any trouble with park authorities once I explained that he had pulled my hair, hard, and the friends I was with confirmed my version of the story. Don't [Mod Edit] with people like that, you have NO idea what their triggers are.

BOOM.

I agree. Don't touch people.

I'm not saying touch in a way where it hurts. I'm saying maybe you bumped into them or brushed them while walking. I would never do anything to hurt someone it intentionally make them uncomftorable. Just a tap or something. There's a very fine line between "touching" and hurting. Besides, with thousands of people a night they may accidentally touch you. Coming from a person that does this 99% of the time it is accidental.

You work at Hunt Club right? I have had people touch me their and it was annoying but not that bad. BUT, I have seen people who freak out when actors touch them and almost got into a fight in the maze. Their are plenty of ways to scare without making contact, so just do that.

Brushes on the shoulder. Grabs on ankles through a low hole. Taps. They enhance it THAT much more and several places do it successfully.

Yes, Spook Acres may grab your arm, back, shoulder, leg, etc. Having volunteered there I know that for a fact. And hardly has someone ever been hit or assaulted as a result. Spooky Acres is hands down the best haunt in the area to go to. It WAS better when it was at the Kelly Farm House on Route 10 but it has not lost any luster in regards to the inside since its move; just outside wait atmosphere.

There is another thread of Haunts outside of BGW. Let's take this topic there.

Hello everyone,

Been a lurker for quite some time. Finally decided to register (I know, I know). Rather apprehensive about this year's HOS looking at some of these posts and BG's Facebook page. Of course, being dragged to the park this Saturday (-eye roll-) will be scary enough...haaaaaate the crowds those days. Saw a picture on their FB page of one of the "hordes" scaring those exiting Bitten...if that is the extent of the horde, I fear i'll be much disappointed. :(

Go in with an open mind. Remember, people are WAY more likely to go online and complain about something than they are to go out and praise it.

You'll notice a lot of criticism on these forums (much of it from me), but remember that the usual suspects here are all way more invested in it than your average visitor. If something is slightly bad, it's TERRIBLE. If something is pretty cool, it's a sign that the park is getting ready to become the new Disney World.

Welcome to the forums, and have a good time at Howl-O-Scream. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on it.
