hey, so does anyone know what the deal with the train is this coming weekend? is it gonna be a normal way to get around instead of Jack's waste-o-time express?

Regular train ride, there are no decorations whatsoever on it

I have a question. How are the crowds opening night? I have never been on opening night, but I think I may go this Friday and then again in October.

I haven't been in recent years (since 06 or 07), but if memory serves, the first two weeks are minimal crowds but sometimes the scare actors are a bit "off". The crowds pick up for the first two weeks in Oct. and the actors are comfortable. Never EVER go the last weekend (or maybe the last two)- my dad and I went once during this time years ago and basically did nothing for 3+ hours (luckily we live 20 minutes away and have passes).

As for your original question- crowds are obviously heavier than normal, but the first two weeks usually don't go to overflow parking- later weeks do. I would still say go to Festhaus area first to be safe.

And as an FYI to all of those who may be going the weekend of Oct 2nd- the park will probably be extra packed. Why? It's Catholic youth day. Anyone going for this reason will surely stay through HowlOScream and two of the events are at the RPT (at 430) and in the Black Forest Picnic area (at 530) so expect an influx at 6pm in the Festhaus area on Oct. 2nd- just a heads up.

Okay, I am pretty sure I may go this Friday, but I don't know for sure. I figured during the day from 10-about 4 or 5 the crowds will be minimal, being it a work day and school day.

Last year we went on the opening Friday, and the crowds weren't that bad, however some of the scare actors were understandably a bit off as VTBGWFan said. We went every Friday and Sunday and the crowds were never bad. The one saturday we went the maze lines were too long, but I'm thinking that we might purchase the quick queue passes on Saturdays this year to bypass that.

Personally, I can't wait to see the hot drummer guys in Monster Stop sans their shirts! Woot!

Opening Friday is never "usually" bad. If Sunday is anything like yesterday it will be DEAD. The triple threat in the FP is usually 25+ minutes opening weekend, especially after dark.

Busch just tweeted this picture :)
I think this is from Catacombs, I vaguely remember something like this there.

I think they're disappointed because they have to wait until the 2nd before they can go.
