An attraction is an attraction, regardless. Good attractions tell stories and have a nice theme usually. In my comparison to a ride to a haunted house im simply stating that a good theme and a good story and a good story that fits that theme makes for a better overall experience. If you go into a house with a story, but dont get scared, atleast you got to be immersed in the progression of the story.
If Jurassic Park: River Adventure Did not tell a story and it was just a stroll on a river with dinosaurs and then suddenly the meat eater ones start popping out at you, it wouldnt make sense... It may scare and startle you, and it may be cool... but it would make NO SENSE... You put the story back, and it makes sense, it fits the theme of the rest of the island and fits in with the movies.
Kd puts on a quality Haunt, and though I praise Busch for their themeing, their brilliant execution when it comes to park operations and management for the majority of the year which is clearly overall better for the most of the year however, Halloween hasnt been their strong point for the past few years.
Also, Ive read reviews of the haunt in magazines. But see, BGE is in a historic, nationally visited city... KD is in some city beside Richmond, and unless you live around virginia I bet you wouldnt even know what Richmond is... BGE's location gives it more visitors, simple enough.
Kd may not have the biggest Budget... But they spend it well. BGE thinks over themeing their houses will make them better... They do for the most part have better insides, though KD has afew houses where the indoor scenery rivals that of BG... The rest are still solid enough to make you believe you are where they say you are. Either way, cool looking sets and boo scares has nothing on a good theme, good scares, excellent scenery and a story...
Quality does not equal very expensive sets. Quality is the overall experience. If KD can deliver scares in the houses and have you know, Actual scarezones, I dont see why everyone thinks HOS is better.
Anyways, I'll Agree that Busch has the Better shows. But KD definitely for the past few years had the better scare zones and for the most part better houses.

King's Dominion does not compare to Busch. Get over it. It is fact. Need I pull up ratings from years past on parks.

I understood what you said dude. Pretty much that whole entire thing I posted was getting at, was a story could improve a maze, or any other attraction for the most part, now go back and read all my post and see that several times I say "BGE is the better park but KD owns Halloween" or something to that effect...
Also, ever since Cedar fair bought the park, it has been rather clean... Only thing I disagree with is the renaming of rides, them not purchasing the rights to certain properties and the over-abundance of trash cans.
Also, may I point out that it is a rather low blow to you know, point out the fact that someone may not be able to afford the luxury that is Busch Gardens, so I can only afford you know, the absolute horribleness that is KD... I mean that's the most insulting insult that has ever been directed towards me since ive been on the internet... But I happen to be a Season Pass holder to BG just fyi. I've also mentioned several times throughout this thread how BGE is a world class park.
I think I have made several good points as to why the haunt is better than HOS, but no one wants to have a sensible debate with me. I mean, even on Bgescape people are willing to admit that KD has a better haunt, though there are few who may argue. No one has their head up their butt far enough to suggest that telling a story through set changes and transitions in a haunt distracts from the haunt and makes it bad... It's how it's done in most professional haunts.
I do wish that Busch had better stories with their haunted houses like BGT does. They do a great job with that. But they put a lot of planning in to it. I haven't been to KD in forever but I plan on checking out their Haunt this year. They're just two different beasts. And scout you need to chill with calling youhow names. He believes what he believes. Leave it at that. No need to gang up on someone for sharing their beliefs. I think Youhow has said what he thinks without calling you guys names or dragging BGW's name in the dirt. I know sometimes we can think Busch Gardens is much better than KD, but that's no reason to call the park names. We should hope for them to get better, to raise the bar in VA.

Anyways I want to check out both haunts this year and i will be taking video of all that I can at both. I challenge everyone here to do the same so that when the haunting begins we all can compare fairly.

While sifting through Midnight Syndicate music to use at my house on Halloween, I discovered that the track that plays on the San Marco Bridge is called Ancient Tomes from the album Vampyre. The ravens cawing/flapping must have been added in though, they aren't in the original track.
And of course BG > Everything Else; why are we on this forum otherwise???
