I know Clementon Park's Hellcat has long had an abominable reputation for being brutally rough. Even with that reputation in mind though, I'm pretty certain this is video from a few months ago is a lot worse than normal...

If you're like me, you watch that video a few times and conclude that is a dangerous level of roughness. It took me a few more watches to actually focus directly on the track as the train passes over the "pothole" though—and that's when I realized just how insanely bad what I was looking at really was.

Most of the track looks solid, but I swear the bent under the track causing the jolt has given way or something—that specific segment of track is flexing like crazy despite all the surrounding sections remaining solid.

I'm no expert, but I'm pretty certain this video ain't good.

Hellcat's listed as closed on the web site for refurb. Not sure when it last operated, but hopefully money is being put into the ride.

I rode it a few years ago (literally got to the park with 20 minutes to spare, and got two rides in after paying full admission price). Haven't been back since they opened the Dragon Wagon, but not worth it for that coaster alone. Looks like the Thunderbolt, Round-A-Boats, Samba Tower, and Kite Flyer are also still not yet opened.

If there was EVER a coaster in need of 208, it’s Hellcat, especially going into its third season SBNO. I’m definitely interested to see what this does for the ride, although not interested enough to actually go to Clementon lol.

Clementon is one of the most run down, disgusting parks I’ve ever been to, and like I said above I wouldn’t go out of my way, but I will be back in the area in August. I’d at least consider buying a day ticket if it’s open by then.
