I saw on a recent YouTube update that the wooden wall/fence next to Tweedside Gifts has been painted a solid green (previously it was a mural of Nessie and a Seagram's ad). Has this wall always been there? It seems to protrude awkwardly into the midway and I get the impression that that corner used to be open space. Can anyone confirm this, or does anyone have a photo of that spot without the wall? If the wall wasn’t always there, what was put there that had to be hidden from view?

That wooden wall has been there for years nowadays, it's a backstage area for the pigs in a kilt food stand that is to the left of the wall. Theres a walk-in cooler back there. The pigs in a kilt stand is rarely open other than for food and wine festival and bierfest.
