It also seems like Intamin is almost certainly at fault for the currently running 6 of 12 possible trains issue (assuming that is true).

Partially. Most of the reason why limited units are being run is because the ops are still getting used to the ride, as when more units are put on the dispatch interval decreases considerably. The main concern is if there were more units on the ride would cascade like crazy if there was so much as a minor delay in the station.

A cycle is 3.5 minutes, 12 units, that's a 20 second interval between trains.

I watch a few videos of loading. The motorcycle/sidecar decision surely slows loading since people don't read the sign/video in the queue. And it's a unique issue only with this coaster. I can envision arguments/crying/whining ”NO! I want the sidecar!”. Then getting on the platform to switch positions.

I think the issues will all work out. Again, this is far more than just a coaster. I'm no Intamin fanboy, but adding effects, etc. is both parties.

From every POV i have seen and my own ride experience so far, I have only seen one side of the two drop tracks in use. Maybe the other one is not done yet/not working. Being able to use the drop track half as much would certainly explain the us of only half the trains. (Along with other reasons probably)

Theme Park Express has a POV up that uses the right side drop track, other POVs I've seen show the left side.

Intamin: One of the least reliable coaster manufacturers.
Universal Studios: One of the least competent theme park operators.

I guess this is what happens when their forces combine.

honestly, so far it seems to be running great for an int.

Also regarding the mako comment, I'm not a potter fan but I can see people preferring this. It's almost apples to oranges...almost. Without a doubt the next coaster in the park will serve to improve on the areas that are lacking in this coaster. With the exception of perhaps the best theming on any coaster, Hagride is the epitome of a jack of all trades. Does a bunch of stuff, but not particularly well. I'd compare the airtime to wavebreaker at SWSA. The drop track is...idk...It's there.

My issue with this ride is going to be more evident in about 10 months but here we go:
Uni can’t help but do two of the exact same ride. Kong is fine as a physical set/screen tram ride, but then they did FaF which is....a physical set/screen tram ride. So they did Hagrid, a themed and scened multilaunched Intamin roller coaster. Now they are building the JP/W coaster which is....a themed and scened multilaunched Intamin roller coaster.

Yes that’s a Uni issue and not an Intamin issue, but it’s why (despite loving HP) I’m not that excited for getting there now to ride it. I can wait a year and there’s going to be a version with a shorter line or the line for this will be shorter.

errrr, I wouldn't consider Hagride and JP the same type at all. Multilaunch and Intamin is about all they have in common.

I think the principle is sound. Uni seems unmotivated to push the envelope most of the time, instead reusing older ride systems with new IP. Their choice of "new IP" is probably another discussion.

It may be that there are technical shades of differences among them, but from the perspective of the average guest like me, it is kinda boring to ride several Spiderman-like attractions in the same day.

Bringing this back to the thread topic, I am personally excited to ride something besides Spiderman and Kong at Uni. (To be fair, I am never excited to ride Kong, regardless.) So, I am hoping I can actually experience Hagrid's Adventure with All of the Remaining Characters, when I go in July.

I agree with @warfelg . I can almost hear the conversation-

Uni- Hey, can we do this with your coaster?
Int- Uh, let's take a look...
Uni- Great! We'll add that! Now this effect is darn cool..
Int- Well, that pushing the ride computer, let our engineers...
Uni- Super, we'll add that right after the turn..
Int- It's not something we've done before so...
Uni- Ok, let's see the final draft in the morning..
Int- <head shake>

The process tends to be more like hiring 5 different groups to work on stuff and design the rides then scrapping it all for the cheapest option from what I’ve heard.

To clarify the friends comment on the ride. He is not a big thrill coaster rider. He’s more a Disney type. So, for that kind of rider this may well be the best coaster in the area
