It could be an allocation of budget. Most likely, they're only given a certain amount of funds each year. Spend all the money on Grizzly and they may not be able to do other projects that are also high on the priority list.

If it takes another 3-4 months to do the rest, why not just do that in the next off season instead of during busy season. There may be only so much work that could be done at any given time.
There’s more than just retracking work that is still planned for Grizzly.
I'm hoping they can retrofit magnetic brakes to the final brakes. I can also see them doing a new controls system. The park seemed to like working with IOE for Twisted since they retrofitted Racer with a new controls system. Hopefully they hit Grizzly next to make the brakes a bit smoother.
Haha I wish! But this additional work is for the coaster itself.
RMC the first turnaround into an insane mini layout instead of just turning around, switch back to gravity group track at the drop into the set of hills with the tunnel, switch to RMC track for the ending and go bananas. The worlds first mutant RMC/Gravity Group Hybrid of awesomeness.

God, the first 2/3rds of this ride are exceptional. First drop is amazing, the pop of air out of the tunnel was very unexpected and top notch. The jack hammering in the last third is horrible but if they retrack that section, this thing will be one of my favorite woodies anywhere.
honestly i like that the ending still feels like it used to, but i agree that the parts gg retracked are incredible
I just don't understand why they haven't brought the Grizzly entrance back to the main midway. It seems like it would take minimal effort on the park's part to accomplish this. A sensible entrance would draw attention to their latest investment and increase ridership. I know the sluice used for panning for gems takes up a lot of that area, but I feel like that could be easily rerouted (you could even still walk under it for some extra theming). The exit could still be through the gift shop.
The line was spilling out of the queue today, so I’m not sure people are having trouble finding it/knowing it’s back there

I rode this for the first time yesterday after it had reopened. I was not aware that the coaster was not fully retracked when I got on it. Everything was going great, a sigh of relief fell over me after the first drop and I tell my wife “My God, this is soooo much better than before.” Just over halfway through the ride, I saw it coming, the wood changing from a golden yellow to a nasty brown and gray. I literaly braced myself for impact as I knew what was about to unfold. That feeling I once had where it felt like I was being thrashed around by an actual grizzly had returned. The only relief being that it was not for as long as before. Please KD, let Gravity Group finish this two-faced ride.

I'm in the camp that feels Grizzly will lose a bit of its personality if they take the roughness away completely.
For the longest time, I've always really enjoyed Grizzly's roughness. Even in it's rougher years, it was still a must-ride at least once for me. I'd have to sit in front to enjoy it but I definitely still enjoyed it.
The smooth sections are amazing and the rough part wasn't nearly as bad as it was last year. I rode in the orange train in the back row, which was the bad train last year. There's still enough roughness on the return run that it feels a bit out of control, but the train glides over those hills much better than in the past. I'd imagine it runs about as smooth as your standard modern day woodie up front.
I don't think the ride needs 100% retrack. The roughness at the end of the ride was fun enough to make me laugh so that was something at least lol

It seems they should have fixed that worst spot because that's producing a bad impression for the entire end of the ride. I put my hands up after the flat turnaround for the first time since before the tunnel because it's all fun after that. The tunnel and turns get me to put them down, and knowing the one truly rough spot is coming keeps them down longer. If they'd retracked the last stretch before the new track got any grit to it all, that would have been too much (though acceptable!). I loved the early 2018 version, but you can't freeze it in a specific state of roughness.

I rode yesterday. The contrast is ridiculous, but I don’t think it’s a deal killer, except towards the front. In the front there was one part that did this kind of chattering and I think gave me a headache. In the back it was rough but fine, and the back is fabulous for the first drop. I rode it 4 times and would have ridden more had we not left early. But always last 2 cars. I do really hope they finish what they started, because the first 2/3 really is fantastic, and still feels like a wooden coaster - it is not glass smooth and that’s good. I hope this is not a case of cheaping out.
I don't suspect it's a case of cheaping out, more "scheduling issues" and potentially a decision to allocate the expense for the renovation over a few years to allow for investment in other park areas like Firehouse BBQ.
I love the new Grizzly it definitely feels much more elevated for me as an attraction in the park. The ending does get kind of violent I do agree and I hope they bring GG back to take care of that portion as well in the next year or so. Honestly I want them to do the same renovation to Racer 75 for the 50th I would LOVE that. Also try to run both trains at the same time after, maybe reprofile the station to be more like Kings Island and do 1 train ops on each side to reduce wear and tear on slower days........um yeah Grizzly is great now and I love it, it really does now feel like an upper tier wooden coaster more similar to something like Phoenix, now if it only had buzz bars like Phoenix.
