Got something of a scare by an actor who hid herself right on the pathway. Was paying some attention to my kid and just about walked into her since she was crouched in a dark spot.

I don't believe it uses the entire thing. I believe they turn you around at about where Grizzly reaches the far back turn. They put in a small connecting path so you can walk down the exit side of Dinos alive. But this maze uses the majority of it.

Correct. The back 1/3 or so of Dinosaurs Alive’s path is bypassed.

I unfortunately regret to inform all of you that Kings Dominion has not yet released any new publicity photos of the Grimm Woods on their official Facebook page this month. However, fortunately, they have released promotional advertisements for this specific outdoor attraction on Facebook and Twitter.

Yeah, echoing @horsesboy, this house is hugely improved in the scenic department. It has long been gorgeous, but it feels far more dense this year. Previously it felt like there were a number of empty areas of just walking through the forest between story segments. Most of those seem to have been largely eradicated this year with the addition of large new rockwork set prices, a human-sized mushroom forest, and more. The park also found new ways to narrow down the paved path through bits of the house in order to induce a little more claustrophobia.

I still don't think Grimm is scary, but, as a "vibes" and "story" house, it continues to shine.

Granted, I'm saying this as someone who hasnt made it out to Haunt yet this year, so just going off past experience. But I personally don't really go to GrimmWoods for scares. I go to it simply for the vibe. It's very unique at Haunt and really crushes the Halloween spooky vibes. I walked through by myself last year with no groups ahead of or behind me (right before closing) and I had a blast just taking my time and taking in the scenery. I mostly never get scares here, but for me, it's just all about feeling that spookiness and unease while walking through the woods. To me, GrimmWoods nails the feeling of Halloween better than any other area of the park (which the park is generally very good about), aside from maybe Pumpkin Eater.

It's become arguably my favorite part of Haunt on vibes alone, though I can understand if that's not for everyone.

It's my favorite, because I like atmosphere and not so much jump scares. But if it's unchanged, that's a disappointment.
