Decided to make a general thread for updates regarding the 51st season of KD!

Our first update is that opening day has been pushed up a week to Saturday, March 21st! This seems to be an ongoing trend with many Six Flags parks, as the company seems to be moving opening dates for some of its better-performing parks, like Six Flags Over Georgia and KD.

Another update:

This poster has been making the rounds on social media today. This is only significant because it confirms that the park is not solely relying on casting agencies and will produce some shows within the park. Also, looks as if a Peanuts show is returning (this should not be a surprise to anyone).

Can they make sure we get Let’s Get Wild back? Thanks.
Hot take: I would love to see Windish take over Let’s Get Wild and bring the show back. They did hire the drummers for the show in the past, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the park still had all of the props and set pieces for it.

I would be VERY surprised if this happened, though.

I think it would be smart to turn Jungle Market Eatery into a coffee shop or cafe something like that. The park has too many restaurants (a problem that the park has struggled to solve for years), hence why JME was closed, but a coffee shop would require minimal staffing while offering a differentiated experience. And it could print money.

Plus, the park’s only Starbucks is in the very front of International Street, so this would be a good high-traffic location for people looking for a nice crafted drink. They could easily turn the restaurant’s large indoor seating areas into a relaxing lounge atmosphere.

This would be a great idea, considering the menu here basically overlaps other eateries already. The cafe type location is definitely something KD could use more of and the frequent long lines at Starbucks, despite location, are a good indicator of that.

Of all the the ways I've racked my brain about dealing with the Jungle Market Eatery, I never thought of it as becoming a coffee shop, but man this is the perfect idea! I know this a pipe dream (it doesn't have to be) but if they ever brought back "Let's Get Wild" having a coffee shop right there would absolutely draw customers to their afternoon caffeine binge waiting for the show. I can picture families arriving at the show early to get a good spot and parents getting in line to get their beverage of choice. This would be such a great money maker!

I'm taking this idea further and presenting three new name options for JME, which can pay homage to former attractions near the site. I know some people think AI-imagery is garbage, but I was just having a little fun, so please forgive me!

Expedition Hydration Station

Offer coffee’s, frozen drinks, smoothies, and specialty drinks centered around hydration. Give them fun names like Jungle Exlir, Fountain of Youth, Snake Venom.

And for added fun, have two souvenir style cups. One of them like a normal one you have, then the other one more of a canteen to fit the area theme.

Does anyone else think it’s a bit odd that Six Flags hasn’t yet revealed the event lineup for KD this year? Or was the event announcement just earlier than normal last year when they cancelled WinterFest (1/29/2025)?

There is the small chance that they’re waiting until February 19th (the day of their Q4 earnings call).

Has any park in the chain officially announced any special events? Certainly GAdc, Dorney, CP, CW, KI haven't announced any official special events yet, other than things like "Science Days" and "Music in the Parks Days" events.

Summer events, Halloween Events, and Winter events (for the lucky parks) are givens, but none are official as of yet. We can also see name changes to events or alterations compared to previous years as well. My guess also is that these announcements will coincide with the next Earnings Call, or happen much closer to park operations openings. The majority of parks are not getting large investments this year (or attractions at least) so the best way to drum up excitement in the week leading to opening day is the confirmation of events.

I don't mean this to disparage anyone there just as a general statement but I always am skeptical as to how open and censure any confirmation between parks and groups of enthusiast content creators that rely on staying on good terms with the park and corporate for access anf content. The increasing monetization of some of those platforms only increases my skepticism.
