Season 2 Hydration GIF by SpongeBob SquarePants

It boggles my mind that there's a park in the year 2025 that doesn't have water fountains and doesn't offer free water at food service locations. Actual madness.

Beyond madness, especially since the parks in the midwestern states during a heatwave ain't no joke.

The local weather stations' forecasts will look like this...

I’d like to elaborate for people who don’t understand the subtext. The only free (possibly) drinkable water here is from the bathroom sinks.

No water fountains. No free water from concession stands. It is full on Ayn Rand paradise here. Water bottles are cheaper than most parks, but they’re less than 20oz. I would have been tempted to get a souvenir bottle as it’s only, but refills are four dollars each and you don’t get the full day benefit. (Side note: They have Pepsi products, which you really only get because you can’t splurge for Coke)

It’s currently 90 here and I’m chilling in the Fascination game room because it’s the only place with AC that has a view of Triple Loop because they didn’t open it with the rest of the park and I’m too exhausted to reride anything because everything is running one fucking train. That’s also if all the rides don’t just randomly close down and the employees head somewhere leaving the rides unattended.

There are charming parts I like about this park. None of which I feel like highlighting because prisoners have access to free water.

Hate this park. This behavior should not be encouraged, I never want to come back here again.

Didn’t even know this was a real scenario, until I visited VALLEYFAIR of all places a few weeks ago. “We don’t have water cups this year” was the response to asking for one. Don’t even think of asking for just a regular paper cup; that’s a soda cup, exclusively for soda use. It’s simply incomprehensible to give me that cup so I can use it for water.

Absolutely the easiest way to piss me off and leave a bad impression.

I would have preferred HW, but it wasn’t within a day trip.

Yup. I wouldn't even say HW is "down the road" from IB. Even though they are both in Indiana, each are situated on opposite ends of the state and are four hours apart. The drive from Kings Dominion to Hersheypark is a shorter distance than HW to IB. IB was definitely doable on your Chicago trip.
