I must say this looks really bad....especially the India booth. I feel like it's a big middle finger to that cool ride.

Yea. Although I will say many of the booths (IMO) are very stark shocks to the eyes. Like beautiful Ireland and boom, Hawaii.

Yes I know it's hard for some of these to not be that bad.

Frankly....would love to see them use Festhaus Field for an event like this.

A friend of mine was scratching her head at the sight of the Hawaii kiosk, but I explained that it was for F&W and that the surrounding area will have a luau vibe once the festival starts. That said, I think the park does a very good job of creating a slice of Hawaii in that area.

I am going to wait a while and give India a chance, but that one doesn't do as good of a job of transporting you with landscaping and scenery, although I loved the little elephant statue last year. I was going to say that the other kiosks are also tucked away fairly well. India has that a bit more this year, but I am still apprehensive about the background and scared to think of how they might try to "improve" it. Perhaps they can use fabric to simulate paint the way they did later on on the Vampire Point Hotel, but I worry about how they might execute that. I think we have our fair share of horror stories involving paint.

No Pão de Queijo? So much for Brazilian authenticity!

And that rum cocktail better be a Caipirinha made with Cachaça, which technically isn't a rum.

Sushi Fearers:

All the menus are now posted on the BG website and Japan's sushi offering is a california roll....which has all cooked elements. I think that should be a little less scary for all involved. :)

A california roll? That's not even Japanese! LOL

They have run out of both spam at the Hawaii booth, and lamb at the Indian booth.

Reportedly, the spam was recalled because metal shavings were found in the “meat.” For clarity, the tainted meat was not found at BGW.

I tried the lamb kofta from the India kiosk on Saturday and it was one of the worst things I have ever eaten at the park. I usually love lamb, but I was expecting some Indian spices with it. Unfortunately, both the lamb and the sauce had no flavor, aside from lamb and heavy cream with nothing else. To make matters worse, the dish is the worst-looking food item I have seen at BGW.

Thankfully, I loved the pomegranate kombucha from the Japan kiosk. I needed something to make up for the taste in my mouth. The Cuba Libre (rum and Coke) was decent, but it didn't alleviate my tastebuds as much as the kombucha, which is actually non-alcoholic.

Cuba Libre

Kombucha, for those who don't know, is very strong and has a natural vinegary taste. Even though I love kombucha anyway, I appreciate how the pomegranate offsets some of the tanginess and still retained its flavor and carbonation, even after the ice had mostly melted. I don't have a photo, but it was carbonated and looked somewhat like pink lemonade.

I wish they offered this year-round. I'm a kombucha addict.

^ Yes, please!

I find it interesting that on the sign there was a Coca-Cola logo under the kombucha. I didn't know they make that. Maybe it could be a year-round thing, but I bet it's custom-made.

Darn. I love kombucha, but one of the good things about it is that it's hard for me to acquire. That way I'm less likely to spend money on it.

If Coca-Cola makes it more accessible and/or affordable, I may have to say goodbye to it. I would be buying it all the time.
