Yeah, but not fully, only a small section of just the treble clef, the only real competition is Carowinds other 3 top tier coasters of Thunder Striker, Afterburn, and Copperhead and Swamp Fox, which is in the same park. This will do good in the Myrtle Beach area, which hasn't had an inverting coaster for 16 years, Time Machine and that whole park is closed and was only around for less than a year, so this is defiantly a major step up, and I hope this area can receive more coasters that isn't just another one of those cheap SPF spinners.
Lot more of it is in SC than just the treble but im just meming anyway. If the station was sitting in SC then this might be a different convo

Custom can mean anything from something designed from scratch to a slightly modified version of a stock model.

I agree with you, but maybe this is an indicator that thoosie terminology is lacking here. Maybe we need to draw a distinction between customized layouts and custom layouts?

This definitely isn't a stock layout, but it does certainly appear to be a customized iteration of a stock layout—which does feel meaningfully different than a fully custom layout to me.

Not at all a disagreement with you @amperedragon, your post just caused me to think about this in a way I hadn't before.

Technically fury is in south carolina 🤓

Years ago (pre-Fury), I was at an event at Carowinds where the question of which state governs attractions that cross state lines came up. The answer given was that it was dictated by where the attraction's control panel was located. That's that I go with in determining what is a North Carolina vs. South Carolina coaster.

It is a bit of a case of semantics. If we really think about it, every stock model ride is customized to some degree even if the differences are imperceptible to the average visitor or are so negligible that they aren't considered when thinking about the ride experience. By the same token, many attractions considered custom are not fully unique creations and instead variations that feature similar elements or similar sequencing that is modified based on the specifications of the site on which they're installed. More precise terminology is never a bad thing (for instance, I'd best describe this ride as an extension of RMC's stock Raptor model), but I also get not wanting to become too wrapped up in technicalities and instead simplifying into a few categories (in which case I'd use original to refer to a specifically crafted layout and custom (or customized) for something that's an alteration to a stock model).

Then where all are coasters located then (In which state)?

North Carolina: Carolina Cyclone, Carolina Goldrusher*, Flying Cobras*, Fury 325*, Hurler, Ricochet, Vortex
South Carolina: Afterburn, Copperhead Strike, Kiddy Hawk, Snoopy's Racing Railway, Thunder Striker, Wilderness Run, Woodstock Express

*crosses state lines
Thanks for the info

Per a news release linked here, not only are they adding the Raptor, they are also adding 4 new flatrides—Crazy Chopper, Colossus X-Drive, Inferno (Larson loop), and Kraken (a spider). Worth noting most of these rides and the park are owned by Powers Great American Midways. Hence the slew of rides in previous years.

Y’know, with all these additions, it might feel less sad to call this my home park after I finally get there in July. 2 hours is still much further than I’d like to be from my home park (over 20 years of being an hour from Great Adventure did something to me), but it beats the 3 hour drive to Carowinds even if only slightly.

Did you mean to say "most of these rides IN the park are owned by Powers Great American Midways"?

Do we know it's a Spider and not a Monster? Do we have any idea where it came from? Super exciting either way—some of my favorite spinning flats out there!

A Spider that's been traveling with Powers Great American Midways. It's a relatively recent ride, too, Battech only produced it within the last decade;

Powers will be bringing six fair rides temporarily to the park this season, not a permanent addition. This is one of four that haven't been there previously.

Since GAMP bought the park, the rides that are transportable tended to be taken out during the offseason and put back in before the park reopens.
