Finally got on this thing last weekend, came in with low expectations and it was still worse than I thought it would be. Sitting in the higher row, 20% of your view is the ceiling while the other 80% is a 480p video that has way too many transitions. Also did the gray paint store have a sale? From the start of the queue until the you exit into Wild Arctic (Can we stop forcing guest through the entire exhibit to exit) there isn't a single other color on those walls. I'd ride it again but man this thing just feels so lazy

edit: also the mist effects were a nice touch, but knowing SEAS hopefully they aren't broken by mid 2026

I wonder how much of this is being driven by SeaWorld and how much is being driven by Mack. Rides in Orlando are always dual use—both attractions for the public and demo platforms for manufacturers looking to sell their ride hardware to additional customers. I could see a world in which Expedition Odyssey is so embarrassingly bad that Mack would REALLY want it fixed as to not give the attraction model a bad name. Unless something really has majorly shifted down at corporate, it's just hard for me to imagine SeaWorld undertaking an investment like this so proactively on their own.

I’m not 100% sure, I know there’s a lot of similar projects to this in the pipeline for the park.

So despite living in the Tampa Bay area I have not been back to SeaWorld since this ride opened and have therefore not ridden it. From what I understand the biggest complaint was the quality of the projection. Can anyone confirm or add additional problems with the ride

The range of motion used on the theater itself was also incredibly tame compared to similar rides, which sounds like they are also going to be addressing in this upgrade.
