I would rather them pause the wild arctic edition if it is a coaster. Just please, put a dark ride here. Sesame Streets BIGGEST EXPANSION, does that not sound appealing? I'm just thinking of the ads that showcase the best parts of the park. They would get the chance to show off everything great in the park again, meet and greets, parades, splash zone offer with one big new addition.
we all know United Parks's history with "dark rides" they don't last long or well maintained for long periods of time...

Hi Friends!

It's time a 2025 project update! To be honest, not much is happening.

-Most of the tables and chairs have been removed from the old queue line.
-More signage has gone up around the building saying no trespassing.
-There are more work walls inside of the the hallway leading up to the animal exhibit. This time the work walls are blocking off the old simulator exit doors.
-I didn't notice light coming from under the simulator doors anymore. Couldn't tell if they sealed it up or began rebuilding the roof.

The video does a much better job showing off the areas that I'm taking about.

Hey friends! It's time for another project 2025 construction update!

So visibly on the outside not a lot has changed.
-The scaffolding has been fully removed and the top of the building has been fully enclosed.
-The back of house area seems to slowly be getting cleaned out.
-The gift shop has been closed on my last two visit to the park but was finally open today! There is a new work wall inside replacing the old barricade and work wall further down the hallway. This new work wall now eliminates anyway of seeing what's going on behind it.
-I've heard there is already a shipment onsite back of house that says Mack Rides on it as well as SW2025.

Hello again!

-Lots of work happening inside the building today. While we are unable to see the inside, you can hear it while walking into the animal exhibit.
-It does sound like most of the work is happening between the two buildings and inside of motion simulator bays on the first level.
-There is a massive hole on the side of the building on the first level to allow workers with heavy machinery access to the inside of the building.
-For the first time in ages, there was a lot of workers and activity on the construction site.
-Seemed like some of the work was happening along the path outside of the building as well as on the inside.
-New equipment has shown up on site like a man lift and a small loader.

Now that Penguin Trek is done, it seems like the 2025 project is moving full steam ahead now!

I’m not sure how valid these rumors are, but someone on the Rollercoaster Discord said that the SWO 2025 project is by Mack and most likely not a coaster. so I did some digging, with the rumor of it being a flying theater in mind and I found something that might just be the 2025 addition.
anyone else hear these rumors
That could line up, I believe the Lego movie ride at Legoland Florida is this type of flying theater model... I wonder would they look at adding it to other parks down the line too...

That's most likely the case. After looking around the park and in the parking lot. Not much seems to be happening anywhere except inside the show building. If its a coaster, markers should be out by now in my opinion, but who know on when they really want to open the attraction. I am leaning more towards flying theater.

Mhmmm…
I’m still relatively in the dark about this attraction. I’ve known it’s a flying theater for awhile I just don’t know specifics

This seems like a logical path for the company to take, since SWSD and both Busch Gardens parks have unused simulator buildings. Between a four-ride package deal and potentially even some structural commonalities in the installations, it seems like there'd be some pretty good cost savings in bringing the same ride type to other parks.

I've heard a few things over the last few months but now they are all over the place. I still heard a small scale thrill coaster or a flying theater for this year, a large scale flat next year. The way things are looking, i wouldn't be surprised if its the flying theater this year, a coaster or flat in 2026, and what ever we didn't get in 2026 in 2027. Personally, i really hope it'll be a flying theater in 2025, flat package in 26, dark ride in 27, and coaster in 28. that would fill most of SeaWorld's holes. But we are lucky to get anything at all after getting so much investment.

Not recent, but while going through my archive of literally everything that's happened in the wider industry since April 2021, I came across this highlighted piece from Amusement Today (dated December 2023). Assumed at the time this had to do with one of the flying theatre chains;

Reading the room, seems like the debate stage is already over but nethertheless enjoy your Mack ;)

No chance SWO and BGT get the same thing in the same year, the parks are an hour from each other. Probably San Diego or an unrelated park.
I'd honestly be shocked if UPE were to add a flying theater to just 1 park without some sort of package deal. Considering both parks received B&M family coasters this year, I don't see why this couldn't be possible. 2025 is the year of Epic Universe, an immersive attraction to balance the scales is exactly what both Florida parks need. One is Arctic themed, one is African. It would be distinguishable enough imo.

Two very different situations. The B&M family coasters were very different from each other, one was a launched coaster and the other was an invert. Different attraction types. This would be essentially be opening up the same attraction with different theming.

I have to agree it seems unlikely that both BGT and SWO would open flying theater rides in the same year. Both parks would benefit immensely from having one, but from a marketing perspective I'd think they'd want to introduce them on separate years so they don't end up with something like back-to-back billboards on I4 advertising the same ride in two different places.
SWSD seems like a good candidate for 2025 since it has the two unused simulator bays and there hasn't been much evidence of anything else coming to that park. Or, maybe the "two new contracts" line could be referring to two different contracts, where each contract is with a separate customer for an undisclosed number of installations?

Honestly, SWO and BGT getting the same ride is not something United Parks wouldn't do. Even if its harder to market flying theatres vrs the two B&M family costers, they will find a way. It's just like Justice League where they said it was the first loop. It would benefit both parks greatly, and they could be themed completely differently. + I love a good indoor attraction
