*jumps on the bandwagon*

It's 100% true though. I haven't ridden it since. I don't care how many tens of dollars they make a day, it's not worth ruining the ride over.

Ahem...then some of y'all need to quit pumpin' quarters into those things; I ain't naming any names. Lol.

That being said, the blasters are suspiciously out of commision almost every time a certain ninja visits the park. Just saying'...plan accordingly. ;)

They do. Even if nobody pays, they'll go off anyway (CK can explain the "phantom water blasters" to you, I'm sure ;)), so the park doesn't even make money off of them half the time, but they still keep me from wanting to ride.

...but then the teen-aged boys you came with wouldn't see you giggling and pretending to be upset that you are wet.

"The special boat?" Is there really a boat on Pompei that is different than the others in regards to getting riders wet. I know that's very possible because boats vary in their way of making a splash from one Shoot the Chute ride to anther. Some rides have boats that spray much more water than others and in different directions.

There was a father with his kids in front of us. He said they had rode it 4 times in a row (got off, ran out the exit and got back in the line) and this was the first time they got wet. When the boat came off the lift at the top it's nose went under and they had a small waterfall dump onto their legs/laps. So I'm thinking some are different.

All boats do that. The splash usually varies depending on how much weight is in the front of the boat.

There is a couple of extra inches of leg room up front for tall folks; the trade-off is definitely running the high risk of water soaking you from feet to crotch when coming off of the lift. Sit towards the rear to avoid wet feet from the drop. But nobody is safe from the water blasters with a sharpshooter or random lucky ghost shot (unless a certain ninja is around). ;)
