Nicole said:Yes, actually it does. Walking around the park in wet shoes, socks, and underwear gives me blisters, and is generally uncomfortable and unpleasant.
Regardless, what right does someone else have to ruin a single ride for me? I'm sorry, but that is just cruel and selfish.
Further, I do not understand how it is "cynical" to express a reasonable objection to something that is unpleasant. Being a kid does not give anyone the right to indulge every personal whim at other people's expense. What is cynical is the park installing water cannons at their water rides only to make money.
MAZ said:I used to love traipsing around the park soaking wet with water squirting out of my shoes, but I am like Nicole these days. I get blisters and raw skin from soaked clothes. Just to add to the conversation, it has been my experience that most of the water cannons are occupied by sleeveless grown adults, and not children. I still ride Pompeii because my daughter loves it. I'm not going to beg for their removal, but I cannot ride without hoping I do NOT get dumped on by a cannon. The negative idea they bring to the ride, of being completely soaked, takes away from MY ride experience. The reason that this conversation will never find a common ground, is because there will always be people who drop a token in and get you soaking wet. And there will always be people who despise them for doing it. The kids love it.

To me, I'm not a fan, but it doesn't ruin my day and make me want to grab my pitchforks and protest signs. And it's not enough from deterring me from riding Pompeii either. Maybe I'm just still relatively young and it doesn't bother me? I don't know, but To each their own I suppose, but I personally don't think they should remove them.
Rhaw757 said:Man, when did this become the no-fun forum? God forbid others are allowed to have a little fun at your expense. Also, the water blasters aren't too hard to dodge with a just little Floyd Mayweather head-movement. I consider it good practice for a situation in which someone takes the last turkey leg I was going for and things escalate to fisticuffs.

I don't recall grabbing any pitchforks or protest signs. In fact, I don't recall saying that I wanted them taken out.
I said that:
1. I don't understand what is fun about straying a perfect stranger, and
2. The addition of the water canons keeps me off of Pompeii.
Please do not put words in my mouth.
Also, you have no idea how old I am.
As for your example, clearly meant to pull at heart strings, I am sorry that child was not having fun at BGW. I still do not see how that justifies water canons at Pompeii. Presumably, he would equally enjoy drenching people at Roman Rapids.
