Thanks, flamanar! As much as I love This is Oktoberfest 2013, between the limited cast, smaller show, nighttime showing, prerecorded audio, and a theater stage set in a forest, TIO is a shell of its former self thanks to Entwined. After watching that video, I miss how festive and wonderful that show was. I know the performers are doing the best with what they're given today, and I'd certainly take TIO 2013 over just Entwined (the Festhaus NEEDS this show). However, more than anything right now, I'd love to see the Festhaus see its soul again. Oktoberfest isn't Oktoberfest without this show, and even with it I feel some of the beer hall atmosphere is lost in a magical forest (maybe it should have left a trail of bread crumbs? Bu-dum, crash!). To me Busch Gardens isn't Busch Gardens with the Festhaus in its current condition. I wish I could just bid Entwined a "parting glass" and raise my glass of (root) beer to a true showing of This is Oktoberfest again. Please.

Something I just found out, the park had lawsuits galore with Entwined when it first opened. Apparently when the park bought the rights to the stories, they bought the rights from the wrong person. For those who are asking why do you have to pay for rights to use common fairy tales? Well it is more or less the way they are depicted. There is a performance company that had almost identical representations of some of the characters.

I found this video. I haven't seen it posted before. Anyway, it's really sad to see the lift stage being taken apart. From 0:17-0:26 you can see the circular cut out in the stage for what was supposed to be "Roll out the Barrel." I can't believe they decided to do a show in that little of time. I will always wonder what "Roll out the Barrel," would've been like. I hope you enjoy the video though, I can't with them tearing apart the lift stage.

That video has been up for awhile. I can't watch it, though. I watched it once. It's too upsetting to see them tearing out such an amazing stage. What makes it worse was that the park posted the video...like they were proud of their 'achievement'. How crass is that?! Ok, gotta take a step back...blood's starting to boil again :mad:

It also seems like they might be completely re-casting the characters as well. Here is the character list with descriptions from BGW.
BREAKDOWN:

“ENTWINED”: A Musical version of the infamous “lost fairy tale” of the same name by the Brothers Grimm. Only recently discovered and translated, the story combines, or rather, entwines, many characters from their previous tales into a now-and-heretofore-unknown heartfelt story of good, evil, personal empowerment…and Gnomes.

[LUNA – PRINCIPAL SINGER] Female. Youthful in appearance (character plays 18). A dreamer, she longs for adventure. A true heroine. Exceptional singing voice and stage presence is required. Must move very well. Vocal Range: Mezzo. Top note E with a very strong and clear belt.

[NARRATOR/PRINCE – PRINCIPAL SINGER] Male. Our Handsome and self assured Narrator. Tall and muscular. Larger than life presence with comedic timing and “Prince- like” undertones. Excellent singing voice. Moves well. Vocal Range: Baritone/ Bari tenor. 5’11” or taller.

[GNICK THE GNOME] Male. Actor. Warm and extremely loveable comical character who leads of a band of Gnomes. Must move well with an ability to do physical comedy. Vocal Range: Character voice. Ensemble singing only.

[COOK/BIG BAD WOLF] Male. The classical villain – dastardly and cunning with a charming voice and large appetite. Mask work needed, so character movement and expression a must. Excellent singing voice. Vocal Range: Bari - tenor

[FATHER/ GIANT] Male. The classical villain – large and in charge with a booming presence and a need to feed. Movement skills a plus. Must be able to work on stilts. 5’8” or taller. Vocal Range: Baritone

[VILLAGER/ PINOCCHIO] Male. Very dynamic dancer with tricks needed. Strong ballet and jazz technique. Vocal Range: Character singing only.

[VILLAGER/ GOLDILOCKS] Female. A Goldie Hawn type character. Attractive and glamorous. Must be able to move well. Comedic personality a plus. Vocal Range: Soprano

[BALLET MISTRESS/ RED RIDING HOOD] Female. A funny Fanny Brice type character. Attractive and glamorous. Must be able to move well. Comedic personality a plus. Vocal Range: Mezzo with strong belt

[BAKER’S WIFE/ RAPUNZEL] Female. A funny Mae West type character. Attractive and glamorous. Must be able to move well. Comedic personality a plus. Vocal Range: Alto with strong belt

[BAR MAID/ THE WITCH] Female. The classical villain – wonderfully witchy with an attractive appetite for evil. Must be able to move well. Comedic personality a plus. Vocal Range: Alto with strong belt

[VILLAGER/ GNOME DANCER] Female. Very dynamic, unique dancers - must have strong ballet and jazz style and technique. Comedic personalities and tricks a plus.

Does that mean our old Gnick/Igor Zach has left BGW as well?
Also, this sound like an Entwined v4.0 to me.

I've heard it said that our Giant/Creature from the Back Lagoon is gone.
