I'm surprised not to see Frontier City and Darien Lake here. If the chain wanted to offload basically all of it's unimportant properties, why not yeet the operating contracts for those two over to Enchanted Parks?

I'll be surprised if they're not still coming. They may have natural operating contract renegotiations coming up soon or similar.

I’m not even sure what DRINK they’re gonna be supporting. Coke, Pepsi, Dr Pepper? I don’t know
Stop double-posting and acting like this is the end of the world. Trust me, these parks will be better off. Seriously, what beverage chain they use is absolutely inconsequential and posting about it just makes you seem like a troll.

Read the press-release from SFEC. NOTHING is changing in 2026, except maybe the dining plans.

I swear we've got a three-way race going here for "silliest user possible."

That's the only reason back in the 90s that I went to the sole Arby's in my area at least once a week. They switched to Pepsi and I was heartbroken.

Oh I get it, I'm just having a bit of fun. Few things in this world are truly objective, but one of them surely is the fact that Coke > Pepsi. ;)

Come at me, Pepsi fanboys!!! 😜

But it also means that since 6F still owns the name, the whole park's name will have to be changed - so it won't be called Schlitterbahn anymore
That park was the only one of the Schlitterbahn offshoots that morphed into a successful self-sustainable business, but even they lacked much in common with the New Braunfels park and the changes made to it after Cedar Fair’s took over have kind of turned it into a generic respectable waterpark. You could change the name at this point and it would mean nothing because it basically doesn’t represent the Schlitterbahn identity anymore.

I expect nothing to change on the ground level with La Ronde, not unless they say they want to start tapping into city tourism. To my understanding Calypso and Valcartier are decent large scale venues, the latter is a behemoth of an operation, but they’re both run on autopilot and Premier has little say on day-to-day stuff or investment beyond maintenance. Not that either really need capital, but La Ronde is different.

A lot of the desperately needed post-COVID ride rehabs that La Ronde has implemented can be credited to Six Flags, but there is so much that needs to be done at that park to bring it up to the level of your typical amusement park operation here in North America. They need an influx of capital, cleanup, and a complete turnaround on staff efficiency in all departments. Otherwise I personally don’t see a need to ever revisit.

Someone wanna confirm that EPR already owns Darien Lake and Frontier City and are just leasing them to Six Flags right now?
Yes, this has been the case for some time.
And I don't want to rain on anyone's parade; being sold to EPR is probably better than getting closed like SFA, but... look at Darien Lake if you want to see how much "investment" or "positive change" that will happen to these parks going forward.

first off, thank god the parks that six flags is looking to dump is getting sold but since epr properties is getting those, this raises concerns, i rather see the parks be own by enchanted parks 100%, not work with epr properties giving their track record

Okay, I'm trying to be cautiously hopeful here but I have to admit... I'm concerned. EPR's other properties suffer from a chronic lack of investment... who's to say these won't go down the same route? Do we think that is largely the fault of the operators? I would love to be proven wrong!

We just don't know how these new Enchanted Parks management contracts are structured. There have been parks under lease/management contract setups that have seen plenty of investment, but there are also plenty of examples of those that haven't. Who is responsible for cap-ex, who owns the assets on the property, how long the terms of the agreement are guaranteed, etc will play a big role in what investments these properties receive most likely.

Also, do we think they will have some sort of all-parks pass?

Almost certainly for next season if I had to guess. Chain is too regionally focused not to in my opinion.

These are both management contracts (same with Hurricane Harbor in OK and AZ) under EPR ownership. It's possible those could go later as a separate deal with SF exiting early, or just let the contract expire/no renewal.

Something tells me we're not totally done with changing the SF map. The West Coast properties (minus SFMM and Knotts) may see a shake-up, too. I wouldn't be surprised if they pull out of SFDK.

Ohhh, that makes sense. Okay, thanks!
