It seems KD could have had the best of both worlds if they moved the water park to some of the undeveloped land and made it accessible either from the park or a separate entrance. For a nominal fee you can add it to your day ticket or pay separately for the water park. This would justify some additional investment into the water park. I think this is the way cedar point is set up. The current position of the water park also blocks potential expansion of the dry park.
