Defunct
Judging by the announcement, it seems to be intended for both purposes.

Plenty to learn about this "competitive gaming campus" before I feel like I fully get it. But ultimately I am old school, and never understood the allure of buying a theme park ticket just to spend the time indoors playing arcade games that are also available outside the park.

This is arguably a different experience due to the arena atmosphere, the fact that it isn't just a pile of run of the mill "arcade games," and the provision of seemingly upscale equipment which you wouldn't necessarily find outside the park unless you either bought it or went to that one friend's house who is always overspending on gaming rigs. I can see how this would be more novel to a park guest than a big room full of racing, shooting, and fighting arcade cabinets.

Inside a Six Flags? I mean, I guess. 🤷‍♂️

The only time I ever went in arcades at amusement parks was when it was raining. It's good for that. A way to kill some time while you wait for the rain to pass and you can get back to riding. Also HP at least used to have a nice collection of old electromechanical pinball machines, which were worth playing.

Mind you this is Texas so it's a good value thing. The ability to get into the AC is nice.

ESix Gaming has now closed down permanently, as shown in Hennisphere’s new video, according to him, the rumour is ESix is being relocated to Six Flags Mexico. A majority of the video is about the rumours of the park being sold to Herschend.

The ESix bit is in the opening 10 to 15 seconds.

I remember seeing articles and images of a e6 gaming in six flags great adventure (that since been removed a couple years ago)

It’s something that a decent amount of places were trying between like 2019-2023, seemingly to draw tournaments, yeah. GameStop was planning a launch of esports locations across the country, revamped a store in Tulsa, OK as a soft launch (which for some reason still operates that way to this day), and expansion plans were scrapped about a year into the pandemic.

Personally, if I had been told my store was being converted into an esports lounge, I would’ve probably quit on the spot just thinking about the smell lol.
