Area DUPLO Peppa Pig Playground

Looks like there's construction movement at Legoland New York, per Screamscape. The area on the hill between the outdoor show and Dragon coaster is cleared out. Seems like concrete is poured for something from the photos. Lance seems to think this is for a Peppa Pig playground, but I'm not sure. It seems like they have space for another "Peppa Pig Park" like Florida has outside the gates.

This was intended to be a Lego Friends/Heartlake City area during construction, but this scaled back. Most recently, it was used for a simple hedge maze under "Lego Friends Nature Trail" with some simple statues of wildlife.

I don't see any documentation regarding this project on the local municipality's website yet. I went ahead and set an exploratory inquiry over to them though. Hopefully I'll get something useful back.

They had a hard time getting the place built due to local opposition, and opening date was also delayed nearly a year due to Covid. I think they've had a slow start but there is a lot of land to work with and I'm looking forward to seeing the park grow.

If they ever wanted to build an indoor waterpark resort (ala Great Wolf Lodge), this would be a good place to do it.
