Exciting news — not because I’m looking forward to riding Drop Tower again (although I am), but because this will be the first time since Winterfest began that we’ll have the opportunity to see all the lights from that high up. I’ve been wanting that 300 foot vantage point of the lights since Winterfest first started.

Why do they make everyone sit next to each other on this? Last night I rode it and there were only 2 other people in line with me, literally 3 of us on the entire tower, and the ride ops made us all sit next to each other rubbing elbows the whole way up. Is there a real reason why this is required with no exceptions?

I don't know my but my guess is that it's so that an op doesn't fail to realize that someone is on the other side of the tower and then not check their restraint.

Weight distribution might have something to do with it too.

Also, I wonder if they’ll keep staffing this for all of Winterfest. It was a bit chilly on Sunday (not too bad) and from what I saw it would only cycle every 10-15 minutes if someone walked up.

I absolutely love this thing though and didn’t realize how much I missed it. We sat facing i305 and could see the Christmas light show up the road which was pretty cool.

So I’ve been terrified of this thing ever since I starting coming 2 years ago, but I decided to finally rip the band aid off and do it today.
Holy shit
This is my new favorite flat. It genuinely feels like an out of body experience. My mouth was literally hanging open when it ended and I had to sit down to process what the fuck happened
