Though I probably shouldn't be, that kind of surprises me since it's likely by the time you rode the carriage has cycled up and down the tower several times and thus any loose junk would have been knocked off. But obviously that's not what happened.

I had a nice polo ruined by falling grease from Drop Tower while I was standing well outside the ride area. It's a problem.

I dunno, their ads always seem to show one with green, purple, red, yellow, and a racing checkerboard on it somewhere from one of their other parks - maybe they'll make it the same?

Bringing you back down memory lane; does anyone remember this attraction when it first opened? Lord were people scared. This thing was like none other, compared to the Tower of Doom at SFA. I believe I rode it for the first time during the Howard University picnic at KD in 2006. I stood in front of it for like 5 or 7 minutes and built up enough guts to get on it. As the ride was lifting up, the lady next to me overheard me saying "Lord, I don't want to die". And she replied, "Why do you say that". It was the funniest thing ever. After I rode it once, I was addicted.

KD is definitely a place where memories are built. There hasn't been a time where I went here and didn't have a good time. No matter how old you are; KD will please you in some sort of way.

I definitely have more stories that are completely bananas from KD than from any other park. Most of which there is no way I will ever share here.

Due to health reasons, Fran left the Drop Tower ride crew about 5 years ago. She did continue at the park working at the front gate for 2-3 more seasons. I am pretty sure she retired 2-3 years ago.

Makes sense though it's sad to know I won't see her again this summer.

It was awesome the few times I remember her taking a ride with guests when a few had asked her to ride with them. From what I can tell, she was their favorite part of the ride experience so it was like riding with a friend, nevermind the large age difference.
