Dollywood Express

If you missed it Dollywood officially confirmed that today that the runors are trues and that the Dollywood express trains are being converted to oil fired. Cinderella was has been completed and will be up and running when the park opens and Klondike Katie is undergoing the conversation now. My understanding is that the local government was not going to certify them for use if they were still coal fire after cider had started at least two brush fires.

Like changing Lightning Rod to a chain lift this is an improvement. I have visited there before when the train was not running because of dry conditions and the danger of the cinders causing a fire. I personally wont miss the soot

Agreed. I will not miss the speiller on the train announcing "For all you folk sitting on the sides, just remember this is a coal-fired locomotive, you may get hot cinders in your face!" literally a dozen times either.

Place had some sort of weather inversion when I was there and everywhere smelled like burning tires, along with never getting legendarily dark at night due to low clouds.

Does this leave Cedar Point as the only major park with coal-fired steam engines?
