I have it on very good authority that Der Wirbelwind is currently undergoing an extensive rehab/renovation. Sounds like it should open this year looking quite nice. Don't know what exactly (if anything) will change, but if nothing else, it should look nice and fresh.

Cool, but something that I noticed at Christmas Town was that The Kinder Karussel could use the renovations a lot more than Der Wirbelwind. None the less, very good to hear.

You would be correct. I would presume the updated ride to be called "Scott's Singin' Swings," or perhaps the more traditional "Glitter Go-Round." We shall see.

I took the liberty of providing concept art for those with difficulty picturing the concept. In my mind, it's not hard to picture- at all. Which is really sad.

Nora, thank you for that photo of Der Wirbelwind from the early days. It looks amazing framed by the Oktoberfest arch! I have always thought Wave Swingers were some of the most beautiful rides ever created, and I hope they're around for a long time. I can't remember, though, if BGW's ride still has red lights, or only the white bulbs now.

Well, I'm still waiting for Zachary to change Die Wirbelwind's thread name.

Google Translate says its Der Wirbelwind but this is the wrong thread for that...

Google translate is commonly wrong. Trust me, it screws up all the time for when I look up French translations, and French isn't even as complicated as German. Both the ride info. sign and the little ribbon that's twisted around a tall poll say Die Wirbelwind.

I'm sure someone who speaks German can come in and tell us the correct article. However, I think we should go with what both of the park's ride signs say.

The correct article is der. It should be Der Wirbelwind, or The Whirlwind, singular. Die is the plural article, but if that article is used then it would be Die Wirbelwinde, not Die Wirbelwind. But it makes no sense to use the plural article and plural noun, since the ride is one, not multiple, 'whirlwinds'.

Uhm, does the park have to follow proper language rules? Last I checked Verbolten should be Verboten, but we don't list it as Verboten.

I say change it to whatever the park has on the ride signage!

Why should we cover up the parks mistakes? I think that's exactly what we don't want to do. Naming this thread with the proper article would show the public they didn't mess up according to us, naming it with the wrong article, like the park did, would reveal their mistakes to everybody. Because when the public looks at these thread names, they suspect it to be exactly the same as what the park calls it.
