@Zachary do you happen to have/know the dimensions of the interior of the Darkastle building? These are public record, right?

I'm sure they are, but I don't have copies. It may be accessible somewhere online, but if not it would require some in-person digging. The dimensions should be easy to estimate using Google Map's measurement tools though.

I had a dream that they turned Darkastle into an indoor roller coaster but kept parts of the Darkastle story. I think that could be really cool if done right. But then I was curious if the show building was big enough.

I imagined it being something like flight of fear. I think it could be awesome. Imagine brief story elements during MCBRs and a “you will never escape” followed by a launch bursting you out the back of the show building into some final coaster elements outdoors before returning back to the station inside.

I can’t even begin to say how much I want this to happen...

not a fan of flight of fear, but if they took that idea and emphasized the theme a lot i would go for that.

But then again, see Universal Studios Hollywood's Revenge of the Mummy, which tried to cram a dark ride / coaster into a showbuilding that was much too small. The end result is incredibly disappointing, and not just when compared with the Orlando version that's in a MUCH larger warehouse. One problem is the height of the showbuilding. DarKastle's is the same... Even though it feels pretty tall, a coaster in there could have almost no height variation. ?

What exactly was Darkastle?

I never went in it because I never knew what it was, and assumed it was some sort of sit-down, 3D movie type of attraction.

Um you missed out buddy.

It was a super awesome track ride. Words can't describe it. Head to the YouTubes!

Just checked it out. Look like I did miss out. I tend to gravitate toward coasters and don't like 3D projection-based attractions. The park brochure descriptions didn't help either.

So I'm putting together a bit of an art piece if you will, and I need some resources. Does anyone have any images of use such as plans, permits, schematics, anything like that involving the development portion of any aspect of the ride? There has to be something out there.

Is this art piece to be for sale?

I only ask, because I would caution you from using actual plans/blueprints/schematics as their use in art might actually be a copyright violation.

Unless it's just for personal use. Then it's likely okay.
