The park can't ever do anything positive.

That being said, I don't think the park is done with this ride, we did have another huge themed attraction open recently and I'm sure that took some resources away from the DK restoration.

Sure they can. They just usually choose not too. haha

It's not that I'm some grumpy, demanding elitist... I just wonder why a ride with such incredible capabilities was purposefully and consciously toned down. It's the equivalent of adding even more trim brakes to every coaster than it needs to operate. My question is just... why?

I only visit one, maybe two times each year so I'm not privileged enough to 'never be satisfied.' I just always adored this ride and wondered if there was a reason for its change.

Some things were probably too much to maintain and weren't really needed for the storyline. It costs money to keep fixing things. I don't know if thats the actual reason, but I imagine it had something to do with it.

You make a good point. When you are working on a new attraction it normally takes away some of the resources and all that are needed in the restoration. But, some of the items are easy to put back in and shouldn't be a problem. Like the pre-show, the spinning effect and the fire effect. These items are just matter of reloading the old program back in the PLC and show controller, or even reconnecting the wires, or even putting a relay back in it's socket.

Spinning will probably never return, and it's not the park's fault that it's gone either.

Curious what your thought process is on this one?

ie. why is it not the parks fault and why do you think it will never return?

Shame about the spinning, because that room is so dark and bland it needs to be a physical experience in there. Either that or they need to add some visual or audio effects. Perhaps something to make the jump from fireplace to falling from a balcony make sense? The physical spinning distracted from where you had been and what happened after, so it didn't matter that it didn't make sense narratively... It was also more dramatic and so the fall was more wooah.

I love the pre batching though. Until this year I'd not seen that. It's infinately better this way. However staff seem to be batching too frequently, because the stable area has been too full every time I've done it. It's not like it's hard to judge either, since the same staff have to manually shut the secret door.

I'm not sure about my overall opinion to this ride. It is extremely detailed and thrilling but i always feel there could be more to it. Something to make it feel one of a kind..which right now it is not. There are plenty of better dark rides out there than this (men in black, toy story mania, simpsons ride, and harry potters forbidden journey are all better than darcastle IMO

I have never seen that ballroom scene...ever, my first ride on darcastle was memorial weekend of the opening year, when was that taken out?

Doesn't look familiar to me, either; I have a feeling it was deemed too "Haunted Mansion" before the ride opened.

i wish the graphics were still as good as that youtube video. They should totally pay a guy to hang out that window every once in a while too.

I think darcastle needs a major refurbishment like the spiderman ride in ioa had. That is like a completely different ride now(so much more fun!!) it would make the ride so much better!!
