My in-laws desperately want to see Christmastown so we’ve offered to take them tomorrow. Because of their driving distance and schedule, won’t be arriving until at least 3:00. I am mentally regretting this, but I guess there’s always hope for a good time…especially if we stick to shows.

Anyone have an idea for how quickly Preferred and/or VIP filled up the past few days?

maybe worth spending on an uber to drop you at the 60 bus stop at england parking lot? :) Or you drive first and get a spot and UBER THEM to that stop? Just spitballing

Volume was so heavy the other day that they stopped distribution and sale of all preferred and VIP parking despite having a ton of inventory left just in an effort to clear out the backups on 60 and 64 as quickly as possible.

Today's weather looks good and it's a Sunday when most people have Monday off. It could be a bad night. Curious to hear reports!

Parked in France. Saw lots of U-turns. 👀
App is not quoting long waits right now but I’m not counting on complete accuracy.

Overall, I know it’s busy, but it’s NOT pandemonium here honestly.

I’m just gonna keep updating this post:
• Almost full house for Gloria at 5:30.
• Short, five-minute wait for Skyride from France to Germany.
• 40 minute app quote for DarKoaster. 75 minute in-person quote.
• Das Festhaus line to the double doors
• Verbolten just closed due to cold temperature (6:25 PM)
• Burnt toast smell in Germany
• Burnt weed smell in Oktoberfest
• Family: “Do they know their pretzels aren’t pretzels, they’re yeast rolls?”
• Little Balloons: walk on
• Little Gliders: 5 minute wait (riveting updates, I know)
• Battering Ram: 15 minutes (7:15)
• Peppermint Twist wheel is getting so staticky, it was shocking me…?
• Post fireworks it is EMPTY. InvadR is running well and an Alpengeist train went through the mid-course…? It sounded like, but maybe my eyes deceived me.
• Family is absolutely stunned by how good the event is this year versus two years ago. “Leaps and bounds better.” They credited it to post-Covid recovery.
• 10:20 PM: no lines for anything at all. Minimal crowds. 10/10 time to visit.

For some reason, the park is soaking wet. There is an incomprehensible amount of water descending from the heavens throughout the park. I intend to continue investigating the cause of this, though the clearest possible explanation is indeed that the Gods are angry at the pisspoor theming of our so dedicated Pantheon.

I don't often put comments on this board, but just throwing in a couple of items - the weather forecast for today is terrible (whether or not it goes that way is another issue), and for the record the park sent an email out to at least some membership/pass holders announcing today's closure last night and the closure is on the web site. Not sure what else is expected here.

you can stalk me all you want on this board (one of my opinions seems to get a snide comment from you). But that doesn’t change the fact that Kings Dominion definitely has an attendance problem parentheses which you said they did not ( proven by the recent layoffs and the decrease in operating schedule)

And the attendance problem is the reason that the can’t stay open if there’s rain in the air
