Looking through the information for Dollywood, it appears that there is no medical exceptions to wearing a mask. Outside of certain situations, a mask that meets CDC guidelines is mandatory with them providing a mask if needed.

Looks like Cedar Fair is taking a stand against Ohio’s slow response to opening their theme parks. Richard Zimmerman, Cedar Fair’s CEO, published an open letter in support of legislation that would allow theme parks and similar venues to open in Ohio.

Cedar Fair is also suing the state to get Kings Island and Cedar Point re-opened. https://www.fox19.com/2020/06/04/kings-island-sues-reopen/

I wonder if they would do that anywhere else (e.g. VA, NC, CA). I'm guessing their patience has run out with undetermined opening dates and having to guess on when they should start ramping up operations.

Well, that whole ordeal didn’t last long...

Cedar Point and Kings Island can reopen as early as June 19th! We should probably hear official dates from the parks themselves early next week.

BIG NEWS! Five Cedar Fair parks have announced their reopening dates! All parks will be using the slogan “We’re All In This Together.” while showcasing their efforts to combat COVID-19.

Both Schlitterbahn water parks will reopen to season Passholders beginning June 13th.

Worlds of Fun will open for all guests on June 22nd. This park will be the first dry park in the chain to reopen.

Kings Island will reopen beginning on July 2nd-11th for Passholders and July 12th for all guests. No word on when Soak City will reopen.

Cedar Point will reopen beginning on July 9-10th for Passholders and July 11th for resort guests. No word on when daily ticket holders will be able to enter the park.

Each park is taking similar health precautions. Worlds of Fun in particular has a very detailed guide on what to expect when entering the park and I imagine that this detailed guide will be used at most of the regional CF parks depending on the local CDC guidelines. I have linked all of the announcements so that you all can explore the guidelines for each park yourself, but here are the highlights.

1. All guests will have to complete a health screening questionnaire prior to coming to the park. These are encouraged to be completed either the day before or the day of your reservation, depending on the park.

2. All guests will undergo a touch-less temperature screening before they enter the park.

3. Masks must be worn by all guests and associates at all times.

4. Markers will be placed throughout the parks to facilitate social distancing guidelines.

5. At least one person in your group must have the park’s mobile app downloaded before your visit.

6. Hand sanitation stations have been added throughout the park.

For more detailed analysis, I again strongly encourage you to visit World’s of Fun’s website, as they have VERY detailed guides for what to do “Before You Leave Home”, “When You Arrive”, and “When You’re In The Park”. These include small tidbits of information such as if all attractions will be open and what to expect when entering stores and restaurants. I’m hoping Kings Dominion uses this model when they announce their reopening plan as it seems to go over just about everything I can think of.

I'm just hoping KD opens before WinterFest at this rate

What makes you say this? Didn’t Northam say that amusement parks can open in Phase 3, and that Phase 2 should only last 2-4 weeks?

And still not a damn word about it in Virginia. California was the one coming out the gate with extreme phase steps. I think the financial losses made them reconsider a few things. I guess BGW and KD don't have enough clout with the governor.

Trimper's is opening a limited number of rides this weekend and will be opening everything up next weekend.

Jolly Roger posted something suggesting that they'll be reopening soon—but don't have a date yet.
