This is interesting....

As one of the comments noted that in China all indoor theatres are closed as well as any attraction that groups >10 in an enclosed space (ala Haunted Mansion,' if I recall the load)

Also, I guess SeaWorld doesn't fit anywhere...lol

Someone send this to Northam NOW! When they use Phase 1 and 2, do they mean like the first and second phases of Florida’s reopening plan or are these mini-phases within a later phase? If it’s the former, I’m really surprised that they’re considering opening theme parks in the first phase.

Also there's no differences between large parks and small parks guidelines....I think other states have done some similar things to make it look like they are trying to be safe when they really aren't. Also if that's the guidelines, I'm not all that enthused at the prospects of going to a park.

As of yesterday when I made FP+ I really though I was wasting my time, but today it seems by like mid June things could be back up and running. I do wonder how they will manage the 50% and 75% at resturaunts that have had 100% of the reservations filled for 4 or 5 months now. Also 50% on busses means they wpuld need double the busses to move the same number of people in the mornings and at park close.

Any park that even considers opening anytime soon better have a mandatory face mask rule in place for EVERYONE ON PROPERTY and mandatory health screenings for EVERYONE ON PROPERTY. Both of these requirements strike me as essential right now and I hope they will be core aspects to reopening procedures industry-wide.

Thats one thing I have not heard mentioned except for employes. Also, how would you go about eating or staying hydrated in the hot Florida sun?

"All employees with flu like symptoms advised to stay home". That better be mandatory, not just an advisement.

Masks need to be provided by the parks if they are going to be used on rides, which really needs to be mandated on anything more intense than a train or skyride.

While I completely agree that everyone on property should have a mask, I anticipate that some park-goers are going to refuse to wear them. Also, I anticipate many masks will fly off on coasters, especially the faster ones.

A big issue is if you don't figure out how to cover guests faces on coasters and other intense rides is that droplets from shouting, screaming, etc. will go everywhere, particularly on riders behind. This is possibly a bigger risk than someone coughing in an open walkway where they can cover their mouth or cough towards the ground to avoid the droplets spreading to others.

Masks for coasters would need band(s) that go around the head tightly, similar to straps for keeping glasses on. My recommendation is these be handed out by the park so they can mark them appropriately with a logo so ride operators don't have to evaluate the mask resiliancy.

Remember those kiosks KD set up a few years back selling park-branded fidget spinners? Just wait til parks do the same thing with park-branded face masks!

You laugh but so many places are doing that. I may or may not have purchased a DMB branded mask.

If they open and people are either required or recommended to wear masks and THEY DON'T have IP masks, then the merchandising manager should be dismissed. ?

Can't wait? Just hit Etsy and you'll find Disney, Marvel, etc. masks.

Exactly! If I have to wear a mask while out, I use one of the three designs below, got them from Etsy and it took a while since masks are pretty popular these days...

This survey doesn't bode well for amusement park attendance -

"Along with sports, theme and amusement parks posted grim numbers. Fifty-nine percent of respondents said they should not reopen until a vaccine is available, while just 20% said they would visit a theme park when they reopen."

20% visiting a theme park would be a huuuge increase.

Counterpoint:
What if parks still loose money operating at only 20% capacity? I'm not sure what that capacity level is for say, BGW, to "break even" on the day. Yea you could say it's better to have income, but consider that SEAS said they are losing $25mil a month by not being open. That's with a bare bones staff operating right now. So if they opened but at only 20% capacity because people aren't going out, that $25mil could quickly become $50/$75mil because of staffing requirements to be open.

They would probably just open on weekends or other days where there’s enough demand to actually make an operating profit. Seasonal events that can’t draw enough guests on their own would probably be culled back or cancelled.
