Talk about a Throwback!

It's also an incredibly smart move on GAdv's part since it still enforces social distancing guidelines and it keeps one of the most popular aspects of the park open.

Del Grosso's is calling it quits on 2020.

Its normal operating calendar goes through the end of September so honestly, I'm surprised to see them waving the white flag so early. I wonder if family parks like Del Grosso's are going to be hit harder? I could see where families would be slower to return than young adults.

Rather interesting read if you have a membership to read WSJ:

I don't think it is unexpected that SEAS is trying. In fact, I'm pretty sure every theme park is trying.

I think the interesting point is that their entire amusement industry is putting forth the proposal. It seems similar to Florida's plan to start seeing the park's operating plans to open. So in some way, yes they are closer to opening, but the likelihood still relies on what the Texas government will allow.

Anyone get the huge survey for Carowinds? Or any other Cedar Fair park? In 30 minutes, I was only half way through and gave up.

I guess we will see how things go with Dollywood. They might put pressure on other nearby states to follow.

Love how they used footage of a kid rubbing their face all over the horse on the carousel to talk about how they try their best to open in a safe way.

Of all the things that I thought I wouldnt see open at Universal Citywalk would have been the face painting....not only for the close proxmity of the two people but how do you do that with a facemask. Another thought is that people are wearing facemasks when walking around and distancing from others yet when they sit down to eat they remove their face coverings. One group in particular got a big table at the airplane bar then was just randomly inviting their friends they were seeing.

Well you can't exactly magically stuff food through a mask.
My point being they wore masks when walking around seperated then they all grouped together and took masks off. In theory a group seated at a table should be the same group that is together all day. They literally said in the video they got a table for 6 even though it was only like 2 of them so why not invite others (bloggers) to sit with them. Then afterward masks went back on and they all went their seperate ways.

The masks would really only help for anyone coughing/sneezing unless they are N95. If they were outside the breathing contact time is probably ok as long as they weren’t too close together for too long - inside would be an issue for certain.

CDC has made a subtle but important change about how it discusses the virus' spread. The risk of surface spread is extremely small and that's before you add in summer heat and UV. I hope parks don't go overboard on time consuming wiping procedures when having convenient and ample access to hand sanitizer should be more than enough. I think there are more important safety measures that should be prioritized. That said I do think making things touch free is a smart health move in general and one I appreciate.
