I have an Idea for BfE's space:
Seeing that PRKS might be investing in flying theaters again for SWO's project 2025, I think it could be really cool to have an Intamin Hypersphere 360 replace BfE's system.

here my idea:
a new dark ride themed to Sesame Street in the Sesame Street area
a new simulator ride to replace bfe
a new land (sweden or Spain) in the old drachen fire space (with some of the land used for expansion of the germany idea)

I think we've generally covered all of these ideas in depth, but could you elaborate on your ideas?

simulator: this new ride will replace bfe, it will be something like a mixup of the old corkscrew hill & bfe,
dark ride based on Sesame Street: this will be a sally dark ride something like the one founded in port aventura themed park from Spain
a new land based on Spain: this will be a area similar to plaza de carnival from six flags great adventure with a bull themed roller coaster (kinda like el toro) & some flats, Sweden I felt like it would be similar to the uk themed area but with some flat rides & maybe a roller coaster & a stage show

So basically:

Killarney simulator building gets a new simulator ride system for both bays with a video that takes the whimsical nature of the story of Corkscrew Hill and possibly adds in the immersion from the BfE headsets while still having a new thematically appropriate adventure of some sort.

Not familiar with Port Aventura's Sally dark ride, but guessing it'll follow a relevant storyline appropriate to SS aged kids riding without the guns but with the blacklighting for color pops. If they do that, I'm thinking really play off of the musical aspect of SS.

I've been saying for years that as cool as Spain or Catalonia or the Basque region would be as a hamlet, it should be next door to a New Spain (Mexico) a la New France and Acquitaine - thematically appropriate place for a tacqueria. And with all the new water ride concepts out there, it'd be perfect for a Montezuma's Revenge water ride (or eff it and create a modern version of a Schwarzkopf shuttle loop - would be interesting considering KD had one but got rid of it for Anaconda).

Otherwise, with Invadr I think they could play off of a Scandinavian hamlet except there's no room for it in the current layout unless you replace New France.

so, do you like my ideas?

I think it'd be really helpful for you to flesh out each of your concepts to the highest level of detail you can give (my post above was more to understand if I was on the same page of the overall concepts you've provided) - try to provide a feeling for what you'd experience as a guest as much as you can.

We've collectively gone over these general ideas (especially simulators in that building and creating new hamlets in FHP and the Pantheon infield) several times now so I think having more details from you may help either improve an existing concept or give a new perspective.

ChatGPT Prompt:
What very specific rides, park events, and shows would you add to Busch Gardens Williamsburg to improve the lore and nostalgic feel of the park?

ChatGPT Response:
Adding specific rides, events, and shows to Busch Gardens Williamsburg to enhance its lore and nostalgic ambiance could be a wonderful idea. Here are a few suggestions:

1. **Griffon's Quest**: A dark ride that takes guests on a journey through the mythical world of griffons, incorporating animatronics and special effects to immerse visitors in the lore of these majestic creatures.

2. **Legends of the Old Country**: An evening show featuring live performances, music, and storytelling, showcasing the rich history and folklore of Europe.

3. **Enchanted Garden Parade**: A colorful parade featuring floats inspired by mythical creatures and characters from classic fairy tales, bringing a touch of magic and nostalgia to the park.

4. **Dragon's Lair Coaster**: A family-friendly roller coaster that winds through a medieval-themed landscape filled with dragons, castles, and enchanted forests.

5. **Quest for the Golden Chalice**: An interactive scavenger hunt-style attraction where guests embark on a quest to find a legendary artifact hidden within the park, solving clues and puzzles along the way.

6. **Tales of Adventure Theater**: A multimedia show combining live actors, special effects, and 3D projection mapping to tell exciting tales of adventure and exploration from around the world.

7. **Renaissance Faire**: A seasonal event celebrating the spirit of the Renaissance era with costumed characters, artisan vendors, period music and dance performances, and themed food and drink offerings.

8. **Mythical Creatures Petting Zoo**: An interactive experience where guests can get up close and personal with a variety of mythical creatures such as unicorns, phoenixes, and griffons, learning about their lore and legends from knowledgeable staff members.

By incorporating these attractions and events, Busch Gardens Williamsburg can deepen its connection to lore and nostalgia, offering guests unforgettable experiences that transport them to fantastical worlds of imagination.

Yes, IMO, to #2 and #7 for the list above. They've been mentioned on here before and I personally love the ideas.

A bunch of random ones, going by hamlet-

Festa Italia-

Tempesto is rethemed to Hermes, whose winged sandals enable him to move freely beely between the mortal and divine words (much like the ride, which doesn't do much beyond go up or down. Every coaster at Busch except for InvadR and 'Sto is themed to some sort of myth/legend so I want the theme to be consistent.

Oktoberfest-

Gets possessed by the Black Forest for HoS. After dark, Gerta is replaced in the station by the spirit of the forest. I remember someone bringing this up in a thread a while back but not sure where.

New Canada- rethemed to the wendigo for the myth/legend theme. take down the Viking thing at the entrance, throw in more trees and redo the station to look like a regular log cabin, but it gets the LNM treatment with wendigo stuff on the walls.

I made a comment elsewhere about tempesto retheme to match the gods. The circus tents in the area may need to be updated/rethemed though.

Also to have a horror version of the ride videos and station audio would be really cool for the HoS seasonal feel.

Let's hope this brings in enough hype/money for them to do it to other coasters. I'd love to see extra theming added to AC/Griffon/Alpengeist or a Verboten refurb
Alpengeist where now the snow banks in the end of the ride are a cave with chilled fog and the brake run has a lcd screen of alpengeist roaring at you. With the sound of a blizzard alert with the Geist roaring on the lift hill.

The queue also features updated snow theming including a spot where you can see a personal radio playing weather forecasts that mention darkastle, while featuring humorous phone calls from various skiers and people claiming to have seen the Geist. Intercut with this gem

Apollos chariot just make it a temple instead of a tent with torches and a big Apollo rising his chariot statue in the main switchback queue area.

Counter offer: tempesto becomes Odyssey. Themed to the wreckage of Odysseus’ ship as you are launched forward and back.

All of my ideas, condensed (warning in advance- may come across as a Debby Downer and I do apologize):

1. Alpengeist
  • If we're sticking with a general "go off of what we have to work with" theme, I don't think the park would go with an entire cave in this case. Maybe Yeti "footprints" in the show interspersed throughout the ride?
  • I don't know if something "jumping" has a specific sound to it but at the end of the ride when you kind of get that jolt you could have a roar play through the speakers and have some sort of vibration as though the Geist just jumped off of your car.
  • Could also have some sort of control booth at the beginning of the station that's seemingly going haywire like it's possessed.
  • If we want to have call-outs to other attractions, I'm thinking maybe a "explore Bavaria" travel ad with a mockup of DK on a mountain shrouded by fog, and then something like "Black Forest Escapes" for Verbolten.
2. Apollo's Chariot
  • Hot take- I don't know what you really COULD do here beyond make turning the station into a mockup of a temple. I might opt for some fog machines to emulate clouds or something.
  • Another hot take: just have theming consist of pillars and columns scattered throughout while keeping the circus tent and theme it to some sort of archeological dig site.
3. Tempesto
  • I know we're not Disney here, but looking at Google Earth there's just not enough space to do much more theming-wise than there currently is with Apollo right next to it. I'd say best case scenario you just have to choose with coaster would hypothetically be the bigger priority for the makeover and even then, depending what the idea would be for an Odyssey retheme (a broken ship maybe?) there's not much. But being optimistic here so:
  • use the blue thing (is that for sound? idk) around the one end- put pieces on top that look like the mast of a ship and paint the inside to look like a ship. Same with the other side except for larger pieces , and then shipwreck-ey set pieces throughout.
Random odds and ends
  • throw snow up around Rhinefield if there isn't any already.
  • I feel like Oktoberfest as a whole should just have a spookier vibe to it given that its two marquee attractions are themed to a forbidden supernatural forest and a haunted castle, but not really sure how to execute that beyond half the land being overtaken by the forest and the other half being perpetually winter-ey, with a "warring supernatural sides of Germany" thing for HoS definitely not being a good idea given the events of the last century of human civilization.
  • I don't even remember what section of Pantheon corresponds to what God but some columbs thrown around would be nice.

I love this idea — so much, in fact, that I’m sad no one at the park thought of it during the ride’s development (especially since they already had Wendigo Woods at HOS). Not only would a wendigo theme for InvadR match the “mythical creatures” theme of most of the park’s coasters, but it’s actually rooted in real Canadian folklore instead of the forced, nonsensical Viking theme that they went with. Plus, with wendigos said to inhabit the forests of northern Canada, it would make more sense as a theme for a wooden coaster, too.

Or, they could just move Tempesto to a different park in need of a thrilling flat ride

I'm glad you like it!

I'd love to know if a Wendigo theme ever even came up when Invadr was just in the "wooden roller coaster in our rustic wooden themed Canada area" part of planning. My initial theory was that wendigos are pretty explicitly evil spirits and they want to steer clear of that... but also I'm pretty sure the "storyline" of Griffon is that it's attacking a small French town, and don't even get me started on Prince Ludwig.
