Madhouses tell their story almost entirely through audio and lighting effects, so aside from the upfront cost of recording the audio and programming the lights, they could really vary the ride experience without adding much expense at all.
As a really poorly thought-out example, maybe the idea is you’re in some magic box that can conjure up any of Ireland’s mythical creatures. Sometimes it conjures up leprechauns, or banshees, or fairies, or trolls, and so on.
