Having more paths doesn’t solve the problem of people crowding in queues without covered mouths and noses.

On rule enforcement. Hasn’t it been said that basically the only staff at the park right now is full-time employees and managers? If the park were being operated by hyoung high school and college students paid by the hour like in most seasons, I could at least understand the apathy to enforcing the rules (even though that doesn’t excuse it).

But full-time managers? That’s embarrassing. In my opinion, it’s a very poor reflection on the park if their management is unable or unwilling to enforce the rules.

It's actually the opposite at the park. There are almost no full time team members working at all. There are a very small handful that have been brought back from furlough but the vast majority of full time managers/supervisors are still furloughed. Really the only full time staff that are still at the park are the ones that were never furloughed, so mostly senior leadership.

So most of the employees at the park are just random seasonal employees?

Sounds like BGW overbooked the event again today...

Yeah, I'm technically happy for the sake of safety that they're consciously not allowing the park to operate above capacity, but I'm wondering what percentage they're overbooking that would allow for this to be happening each week it seems like. It's messy, and I have to believe they are going to be under pressure to provide some type of compensation to those impacted. Admittedly, the idea of not showing up to a four-hour window until 12:30 seems like a bad value proposition to begin with, but they still reserved their spot, and even if there's fine print that allows for this it doesn't help the park to be spreading this kind of word of mouth even if it does protect their margins a bit.

And there's certainly the question of whether this issue will become more pervasive with more rides open.

Yes they are mostly low level part time team members and some part time supervisors. The park technically hires almost no one as seasonal anymore. They hire people mostly as part time.

When i was in the line for Trappers yesterday evening literally a dozen plus people all piled in behind me and none of them were spaced out. And that que is probably the worst case scenario for lack of enforcement. The kitchen supervisors didnt seem to care

My experience at Trapper’s on my second visit during this event was enough to convince me to never eat a meal at the park during these limited events. I’ll see how the lines end up being for the Food and Wine events, but right now my approach to food at the park is “If one of the lines for the smaller venues is empty, I’ll grab something.” That Trapper’s line is a mess.

RE: Employee situation -

Certainly a smart business decision for them to bring back the part time employees over full time to be blunt here. Much cheaper to not have to put in the back end benefits for them. But, I think it leads to some of these issues with masks. If you are a part time employee with little desire to come back the following year, your incentive to enforce the rules of wearing masks. I'm not sure what the answer is to get them to have more incentive to promote mask wearing through, unless they brought back a few full time employees and had them do cleaning on closed days.
