What else would a crate full of artificial evergreens and preinstalled lights/decorations be for? That other event that uses greens and lights?

Was asking about the boxes, can't really read what they say TBH. I'd be willing to get it's backup stuff.

I've come to the park Friday through today, this is our only trip this year, and everything seems to be making for great event. The crowds have been steady and pretty heavy but that's good for BG. For 99% of the time things have been working, a few strands here and there but still looks good. Although I haven't noticed the smell of the fir mulch.
I have been to both Christmas Town and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas and honestly I'm happier at BG. When you get past Main Street it's just a few overlays and not much else. I've been to Winterfest at Carowinds and it's ok but not something I'm coming back for over and over. And this is a park close to me. Of course BG needs to keep up, make a few changes and work on the crowds but that's an industry wide issue.

As someone who regularly brags about making the park lose money on you and how many vouchers for free stuff you get, I don't think the park is worried about customers like yourself. But congrats on life hacking BGW I guess.

I would love to read you folks being more courteous and less insulting and negative towards each other's comments and opinions. Be nice, respectfully discuss.

I went to CT for the first time in like... 4-5 years, and I knew it hadn't changed that much. But I was left... Bored and unimpressed. We rode Battle for Eire just so we could do something.

I guess I'll go back in like another 4-5 years see if anything changes.

Honestly that not quite a fair statement in that time frame they added Battle for Ire, Invadr, Finagon's Flier, the Christmas Town Express, and Forrest of Fun to the lineup. And if course the Christmas maze this year. Those are actually quite a few changes for that size of an event in that time frame. Yes the nature of the event hasn't changed but I would also argue that I am not sure it needs to all that much. Personally I love to see them open a third coaster and change out a fewer shows and be like KD and add some more photo ops but I also like the overall feel of the event and would like them to try and protect that. I honestly feel like there is little difference between people who say I bored it's just Christmas lights change it and people who go Hallowscream is to scary change it. If it's not your thing don't go.

Okay but that's also not fair to dismiss my feelings on the event. I didn't come out and say it was the worst event ever. I said I was bored and unimpressed. It over all does not appeal to me, which is why I haven't gone. But, y'know with the fact that they "added new things" to the event, and I was invited to go along with friends, I said sure why not.

Not everyone is going to like everything but I find it rather rude to be instantly like "if you don't like it don't go" to people's opinions on things. I wasn't trying to be argumentative. I was stating my feelings on what I experienced. I didn't come out and say anyone who likes the event is wrong. So why are you coming at me for saying I was bored and unimpressed, and found the "new additions" to not add much to the lineup? I didn't post to change anyone's mind.

I dont consider opening attractions that are open all season for CT such as Ire, Invadr, FF an addition to CT. If you go with that theory then next season they could not add a single thing to CT but advertise new for CT 2020 Pantheon, which has nothing to do with Christmas.....or new to Food and Wine, Pantheon. That makes no sense. Also I dont get why people keep talking about them adding the Christmas Town Express. Do people not realize that at one time it was a much larger attraction for CT with much more decorations. They have always had lights and things on the train but then they added those orbs and everyone is losing their minds like its something new and great.

Thats what people do on here....if its not the fan boy opinion or their opinion they attack you for it.

Totally agree. I see most rides (barring anything with an elaborate overlay basically) as an “unfortunate necessity” during Christmas Town. In a totally idealistic world, CMT would have enough engaging, Christmas-themed attractions with enough capacity to occupy guests for the whole night without enormous lines. That is, of course, never going to happen though. Thus, unthemed rides.

So yeah, while I support expanding the attraction lineup at CMT (primarily for crowd control reasons), those don’t feel like true CMT additions to me at all. If the park decides to actually put a little effort into their rides to give them Christmas overlays, then we can talk.

Also I dont get why people keep talking about them adding the Christmas Town Express. Do people not realize that at one time it was a much larger attraction for CT with much more decorations.

I’m sorry, but this is just straight-up false. The railroad features infinitely more lights now than it ever has previously. That’s just a fact. You can prefer the more understated pre-Christmas Town Express decorations and you can think the Christmas Town Express is massively overhyped by the park, but to claim there used to be more decorations is demonstrably false.

The train at one time was lined with hundreds of cut trees and each of those trees had hundreds of lights. The swan has been around a few years now so thats not new, they used to line the area where the Pantheon bridge is going with lights and trees, and the area where Invadr is now had trees and lights. If you want to go bulb for bulb then I think you are wrong. Heck, take all the orbs back by old Dachen Fire and add them up and there are probably less of them than there were lights on just one tree before and there were trees everywhere back there. The orbs on the bridge by Griffon to me are a distraction, the view you had before of Ireland and all the lit trees in the distance was so nice a peaceful, but now you have pastel colors blasting you in the face. The RGB pixel "walls" they have make no sense, it remeind me of the old information highway scene from Spaceship Earth at Epcot. If they used a little effort and programed them they could be pretty cool but they dont, they are lazy. Take a look at the new Tomorrowland Speedway at Magic Kingdom and toward the end they have the red and white stripe patterns in the bushes, if they did something like that it would be amazing but no, they unboxed them and left them on demo mode. They could really do some cool effects with them, if they used vertical rows of colors and had them programed to the speed of the train it could give you the effect of sitting still, there are so many possibilities that a laptop and a couple hours could do.
