They keep raising prices and reducing Christmastown entertainment. Miracles was reduced to the cheaper to produce Gift of Harmony and now a piano player? They cut back live entrainment both in the summer and fall.

Kings Dominion on the other hand is stepping up their live entertainment. Winterfest has enough live entertainment to fill the entire night.

Busch’s penny pinching is really showing and reducing Park quality

While Kings Dominion has beautiful lighting displays, I wouldn’t say any of their shows come close to Busch Gardens in production value or quality. What bothers me about Believe is that a solo piano player sounds lower than Kings Dominion‘s lowest bar in terms of scale.

Still, I believe that there is currently a large enough gap between BG and KD in show quality that BG could even leave the theater empty if they wanted to and still be miles ahead in the game. However, if Busch Gardens decides to be lazy just because Kings Dominion can’t compete (they don’t even have the venue space), that is unacceptable.

Maybe BG decided that shows are not the main draw of Christmas Town, but I don’t know what else is in a season where they can’t run most of the rides.

In fairness to both parks, the shows at Christmas Town and Winterfest aren’t meant to be on the same level. Christmas Town has a smaller show lineup with huge, big-budget productions that are draws in themselves. The shows at Winterfest outnumber the number of shows at CT three to one, but they’re meant to mostly be smaller pathway shows that can serve as a diversion for a few minutes and contribute to the overall atmosphere of the event. I think both concepts work great for the type of event each park is trying to create.

That said, I agree that the continued scaling back of Christmas Town’s entertainment is a problem. Keep in mind that the average Christmas Town ticket is twice as expensive as a Winterfest ticket. While I absolutely adore Christmas Town (I consider it the time of year when almost “all is right” with BGW), I’m not sure the event is twice as valuable as Winterfest.

So I assumed the Christmas Tree Trail was in Festhaus Park....at least thats what I thought I read. But in the parking lot where Cornered was it looked like they were laying out timbers, so is that the trail? Also the train is decorated.

I suspect it will be where Cornered was now to be honest. All the new fencing they put up around the back of DarKastle the other week seems odd otherwise.

It's my understanding that @Zachary is correct. It will be in the area that cornered used to occupy.

Aren’t they open for hos till Sunday? How are they already having so much overlap with events? Granted SeaWorld is putting up trees in the lake but they don’t have a park wide haunt. I’m not sure they should have added these extra days to hos

It was a bit odd seeing a lot of holiday merchandise last night, but it seems like a reasonable solution to the problem of getting the park switched over in time.

It does. Disney has been selling Christmas merchandise for a few weeks now at this point. It makes sense that at the end of an event there might be some hints that the next big event is coming.

Does the train operate in the daylight at Christmastime? All descriptions only talk about a round-trip to see all the lights.

It does not. The first trips will be after dusk.

And the worst part of this is that it means we won't be able to get the best angles to check out the Pantheon progress.
