I'm actually pretty excited for the new changes coming to CT this year! I like that the park is adding more "interactive" experiences to CT with the addition of the Christmas Tree Trail. Compared to Winterfest, CT is a lot more "passive" in that it's mostly viewing big performances and looking at decorations, so it's nice to them adding an actual new activity to the event.

Believe also sounds promising, too. I loved Bel Concertino and I like the idea of taking that same intimate, low-key style and giving it a Christmas makeover. Wish it was replacing Deck The Halls, not Gift of Harmony, though. DTH is far more stale at this point and I'm done with the huge, flashy productions going on in the Festhaus when it's already packed enough with people trying to enjoy the heated seating.

Frankly I’m tired of the insane crowds in Festhaus during Christmas Town. I totally get the appeal of a Christmas show in a big dining hall but it’s just too busy, every year I’ve waited in the line outside and not even ending up getting any food bc it’s “standing room only.” I know this might be a moot point but it’s just kinda frustrating yanno??

A December 22nd opening seems plausible to me. They have had problems with it being too warm for the ice on certain days. Opening later would lessen that chance. Also it would decrease costs which means they are more likely to keep the show for future years. Plus Monster Stomp did not open with the rest of Howl O Scream. While December 22nd sounds late, that is when the park gets the busiest (except for Saturdays).

I don't like this, but I could see it happening for these reasons.

Yes but Monster Stomp opened on the 4th, in early October, and it runs all days the park is open from there, including the added dates. Opening a show on the 22nd of December, doesn't make any sense as thats like the last two weeks of the event.

If they want to open the show in December that's fine, but it should be early December so more people have a chance of actually watching it. Considering this isn't advertised as a limited event like Summer Nights acts.

Though if you have a event show it should be 100% ready to start with the beginning of your event. I feel like chances are it's a typo, but at the same time bgw has done some weird shit ?

The picnic pavilion is already decorated with lights and trees, and the pavilions are used during the event so I struggle to see how feasible it would be to host the trail. Also, the extended queue for the Festhaus is in the same general area to the left of the Festhaus. Due to the massive crowds seen in Oktoberfest around this time I imagine they don't want to add more guests going into the same bottleneck with a new attraction. I'm imagining guests will enter to the right of the Festhaus where the Demented Dimensions entrance was and then use the space where Cornered was located to help with the crowd flow.

Why not start the trail like they did for Lumberhack a few years ago where Cornered was. Then you wind through the woods behind the Drachenfire House and maintaince shed. Then back through the field. The years they had the outdoor maze there for HOS were pretty awesome.

They might be looking for an area that can use the same general lay out for more then one year. Anything in the old DF site would be unlikely to be available next year given project 2021.
