So what is the Traditions Tree Maze? Sounds something like the Disney Springs Christmas Tree Trail to me. By the photos it looks like the Festhaus is in the background but that could just be a marketing photo.

Official description of the new Traditions Tree Maze:

Our tree maze next to Festhaus combines nearly 500 freshly-cut trees with winter traditions from around the world.

I assume this means it will be in the Oktoberfest picnic area? It's a neat addition in my opinion—I'm a big fan of the Christmas Tree Trail at Disney Springs.

Also of note: Gift of Harmony is dead—replaced with a solo piano act called Believe.

Let the lilting sounds of our pianist carry you away to a winter wonderland.

Take your seat in the San Marco Theatre for a brand new Christmas Town show. Our performer will return you to a sense of child-like wonder with festive Christmas carols accompanied by piano. If you listen closely, you might just hear Santa's sleigh on the roof!

Anyone else spot any additional changes to this year's event?

I'm just glad for something new! I was worried about complete rehash of every other year. I wish the penguins would return, maybe build out something in Roman Rapids queue area or BfE queue.

I was not a fan of Gift of Harmony, and felt it was a huge downgrade from Miracles. It was also too similar to Deck the Halls.

Hopefully Believe works.

After writing about Miracles and Believe, I now have "When You Believe" stuck in my head....
"There can be miracles when you believe..."

But, that was written for a movie about a different holiday...

I can't remember, have they ever been able to remove any of the obstacles in RR's basin to be any to use it as a walking path during this event?

I really hope this is basically the old Miracles show just less the dancers. I did really like the dancers but understand with the cold and dew on the stage it was constantly a problem. That was to me one of the best shows during CT.

Not even remotely possible.

This may not belong in this discussion, but what's preventing them from doing so?

My thought is that if the could construct some temporary stairs or a ramp over the side of the loading platform headed the normal direction down the channel, they could remove the pipes that create the whitewater effects (and either cover or remove their brackets) - end would be somewhere before the waterfall elements where another set of stairs or ramp could get you to what appears to be TM pathway back to the loading platform.

Would be cool to have a walking music to lights show in there and the garden area that surrounds it.

There are numerous pipes, dropoffs, grates, and all kinds of stuff down there. The area you see by the water squirter area is just the beginning and there is not much right there. Even if it was possible you have to make it ADA accessable, so there would need to be ramps, emergency exits, emergency lighting to direct you, basicall a whole slew of things to make it something it wasnt designed to be. Lastly that trough is pretty deep so you would be looking up at all the trees.
